We’re actively seeking a talented Accountant to join our Real Estate Accounting and Operations team in Newport Beach, CA.
As an Accountant II, you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by assisting with operations, accounting, and reporting functions as it relates to the timely recording and processing financial activity for Pacific Life and its subsidiaries’ real estate equity investments. These transactions are recorded and assessed in accordance with GAAP and STAT guidelines. In addition, this position has the opportunity to assist with various Financial Reporting and Asset Management objectives and perform ad-hoc requests related to real estate equity investments.
How you'll help move us forward:
Upload Property Manager trial balances for the financial close process on a monthly basis
Perform data validation for financial uploads on a monthly basis
Monitor shared mailboxes and process daily cash activity in Yardi and/or PeopleSoft, such as capital calls and distributions
Upload non-financial information (KPI) on a monthly basis for the real estate properties
Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly reports and reconciliations for the financial close process
Assist with preparation and compilation of quarterly Financial Statement Analytics
Assist with preparation of schedules and correspondence with property managers to support the annual financial statement audit
Organize multiple requests, prioritize and respond timely
The experience you will bring:
2+ years of accounting experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Accounting Emphasis
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Sharp attention to detail and organization skills
Strong Communication Skills both in Verbal & Written Format
Interacts with a spirit of cooperation, flexibility and a positive attitude
What will make you stand out:
Public Accounting Experience, Real Estate experience is a plus
CPA candidate
Prior experience with Yardi or PeopleSoft
Adapts quickly to change
Constructively handles ambiguity.
Ability to wear multiple hats.

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
