Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews and controls accounts and records to ensure accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with all pertinent procedures and regulations. Prepares complex journal entries accordingly.
- Maintains current knowledge of accounting standards, cash management procedures, and applicable regulations related to banking activity, unclaimed property, and financial reporting.
- Performs and maintains timely and accurate reconciliations for multiple University bank accounts, including operating, payroll, Bursar, accounts payable, etc. Promptly investigates and resolves reconciling items and outstanding transactions.
- Monitors outstanding and stale-dated checks, performs due diligence procedures, and assists with unclaimed property reporting and compliance. Prepares various account reconciliations and accounting analyses as needed.
- Assists with month-end close activities, account analyses, and ad hoc accounting functions and reporting requests to support departmental operations and financial reporting.
- Coordinates with internal departments, banking institutions, and external agencies to resolve banking and reconciliation issues and ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties and ad hoc accounting assignments as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree Accounting or related area and Three (3) years of accounting experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Three (3) years of accounting experience (or equivalent combination of education, training, experience)

- Experience preparing complex journal entries and month-end close support
- Experience performing bank and general ledger reconciliations for multiple accounts
- Knowledge of accounting standards, cash management procedures, and related regulations
