We’re actively seeking a talented Variable Products Accountant II to join Variable Products Accounting in Newport Beach, CA.

As a Variable Products Accountant I, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by ensuring our reports we send out are accurate and reviewed as efficiently as possible. You will fill an existing role that sits on a team of 15 people in the Corporate division.
How you will make an impact:

• Review shareholder reports including: financial statements, notes to financial statements, and other schedules for financial reporting.

• Assist with Transfer Agency functions such as fund share activity wires and outstanding share reconciliations.

• Perform derivative trade verification with appropriate brokers for audit confirmation completeness.

• Troubleshoot and maintain automation functionality over centralized databases and processes.

• Prepare reasonableness testing for fund advisory and service fees.

The experience you will bring:

• A Bachelor's in or with an emphasis on Accounting.

• 3+ years experience accounting for financial services.

• A good command of Excel and Access.

• A proven history of process improvements.

What will make you stand out:

• Prior mutual fund or separate account accounting experience.

• Technological skills for process improvement/automation (VBA, SQL, PowerQuery)

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
