Accountant I

Job Description:

Position: Accountant

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reconcile payroll registers and related reports to general ledger activity, researching and resolving variances promptly
• Record payroll taxes, employer paid liabilities, and other payroll related transactions
• Solid knowledge of full cycle payroll, payroll journal entries, accruals, account reconciliation, and month end close activities
• Quarterly 941 reconciliations to general ledger
• Monthly general ledger account analysis and reconciliations
• Prepare and post journal entries including monthly and yearly closing entries
• Assist with month/year end closings and audits
• Assist with ongoing projects as needed

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in accounting

• Healthcare experience preferred but not required

• Workday/ OSV knowledge a plus

• Understanding of payroll tax reporting, withholdings, and employer tax responsibilities

•Strong math and computer skills

• Proficient using Excel (VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables)

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Team-Player

• Attention to Detail

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
