Job Overview
You will be responsible for preparing and managing statutory financial accounts across offices in Asia, Europe, and North America, working from our Kuala Lumpur office (hybrid work arrangement).
As a sole contributor, you will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and compliance while providing ad hoc financial management support to the management team. This role requires close collaboration with global stakeholders and proactive problem-solving to address financial queries as they arise.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Compliance
· Assist with statutory audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
· Support the preparation and submission of monthly indirect tax returns (e.g., SST, VAT, or equivalent).
· Assist with corporate tax returns and liaise with tax advisors or authorities as required.
· Prepare and maintain schedules for stock-based compensation, ensuring accurate recognition in line with accounting standards.
· Perform revenue recognition reconciliations and ensure proper documentation of revenue transactions.
· Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to maintain accuracy.
· Work closely with Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) teams to ensure timely and accurate month-end closing.
· Manage accounting activities across multiple entities and currencies, ensuring proper consolidation and compliance with group accounting policies.
Financial Reporting & Support
· Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting pack for internal stakeholders.
· Support the Finance Director in compiling the Board Pack, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy of all schedules.
· Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all financial reporting deliverables.
· Participate in the continuous improvement of accounting and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and control.
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Finance
- Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) required
- 5 years of relevant experience, preferably gained in a Big 4 audit firm or in a multinational environment.
- Hands-on experience with Netsuite or other major ERP systems
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, revenue recognition, and tax compliance
- Advanced skills in Excel and high attention to detail
- A team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Excellent written, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interact proactively with senior management and multiple stakeholders
- Able to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
