Accountant (Finance Operation – Accounting)

Role and Responsibilities

How you make a difference
As an Accountant at Samsung, you will focus primarily on hands-on general accounting activities, including preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and capital expenditure schedules. You will also create financial reports for management in adherence to company policies and regulations, ensuring accurate and transparent information flow. Additionally, you will monitor and analyze fluctuations in financial data to maintain oversight and control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Month and Year-End Closing:
  • Perform SAP-based month and year-end closing activities, including clearing General Ledger (G/L) accounts and generating reports.
  • Process provisions, prepayments, and accruals.
  • Confirm and post invoices in the system as required.
• Statutory Reporting:
  • Prepare, analyze, and report statutory accounts and financial statements to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Asset Management:
  • Oversee the management of company assets, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
• Tax Operations Support:
  • Provide operational assistance with VAT, wage tax, and corporate income tax activities within SEBN.
• Project Innovation and Compliance:
  • Contribute to projects within the Accounting Department or represent the department in initiatives with financial impact.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and GPPM standards.
  • Drive improvements to task efficiency and reporting processes within the department.

By fulfilling these responsibilities, you will play a vital role in ensuring financial accuracy, transparency, and process efficiency across the organization.

As an Accountant, you will be part of the Accounting Benelux team based in Schiphol, the Netherlands. We are an international team of accountants with different levels of seniority, open to new ideas, happy to share knowledge, making an impact on the Benelux organization and grow together.

We also request:

• A completed Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting, Business Logistics, or a related field.

• Minimal 3 years of relevant experience as a Accountant or in a similar role.
• You are experienced in working with accounting policies (IFRS).
• A good command of the Dutch and English language at a professional level.
• Skilled in using Excel & SAP systems
