AT A GLANCE:

The Yield Manager works within the Bedbank division of Hotelbeds Group and strategically manages the hotel room-night inventory so it can be sold to the right customer, at the right time, for the right price. The Yield Manager is focused on understanding, anticipating, and influencing supplier behavior in order to maximize the operating margin.

This role reports to the Area Yield Manager.

Each Yield Manager strategically manages the competitiveness and availability of inventory and remotely handles their own portfolio.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Maintenance

  • Maximizing contracts conditions in terms of availability, special offers, competitiveness analysis, stop sales renegotiation.

  • Maintain Contracts and update offers

  • Guarantee that all product is available for all channels at the correct rate.

  • Increase and Promote management of Rates and Availability through Hotelbeds extranet and Channel Managers

  • Support any request that comes from Area Yield Manager

  • Daily coordination with Contract Manager

Promotions & Analysis

  • Following up on Trading evolution vs last year and targets in coordination with Contract Manager.

  • Special follow up on key agreements

  • Identifying additional Business Opportunities

  • Reporting to Regional Yield Manager on actions taken and results

Competitiveness & Positioning

  • Analyze weekly reports to ensure all products has competitive pricing

  • Positioning: Ensure all top producing products are positioned strategically on our websites

  • Regular spot checks/auditing on existing Hotel information to ensure accuracy

Possible Additional Tasks

  • Assist with Hotel invoicing discrepancies

  • Assist other departments when operational issues are escalated

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required

  • Experience in Hotel/Hospitality industry

  • Familiarity in contracting and negotiating with hotelier desired

  • Focused on results.

  • Strong negotiation and planning skills.

  • Methodical and precise in their approach to work.

  • Able to perform work independently.

  • Excellent attention to details.

  • Creative thinking

  • Negotiation skills for obtaining promotional rates, promotional contracts and the reopening of closed out dates

  • Ability to document and quantify day to day accomplishments

  • Excellent computer skills (especially Excel).

  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written

  • Ability to work flexible hours

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma and/or GED is required. Minimum Associates Degree and/or at least (2) two to (3) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Excellent ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Excellent ability to write simple correspondence. Excellent ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Skills Required
