The Hartford is seeking an Account Manager for our Affinity Team.

We're looking for a client-focused Account Manager for the Association/Affinity Team at The Hartford Insurance Company. This role centers on building strong relationships with Third Party Administrators, Brokers, and some policyholders. The ideal candidate will be proactive in managing a portfolio of accounts, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring exceptional service delivery.

Success in this role means:

Understanding client needs and aligning them with Hartford's solutions

Collaborating across internal teams to resolve issues and support client goals. Driving retention and expansion through strategic account management and business development.

This position is best suited for someone with a positive attitude, someone who understands how to work independently, while also being part of a team and being ready to help the team succeed, with strong communication skills and a passion for client success.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with assigned clients, acting as their primary point of contact for Third Party Administrators, Brokers and occasionally the policyholders.
  • Understand client needs and objectives and effectively communicate the value proposition of The Hartford products and services.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to existing and prospective clients.
  • Collaborate internally with underwriting, claims, and other departments to ensure seamless client service and issue resolution.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts and through strategic prospecting.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic account planning.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and sales forecasts within internal systems.
  • Support Relationship Manager to achieve and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators.
  • Participate in conferences, and networking activities to represent The Hartford and expand professional connections.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, or related work.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in account management, sales, or client relations, preferably within the insurance industry.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships and achieving sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Salesforce experience preferred.
  •   Knowledge of life and health insurance products and services is highly desirable.
    Willingness to travel when required. (yearly)

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office (Hartford, CT Home Office) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$68,240 - $102,360
