We are looking for an Account Manager to join our Academic and Government - Commercial Sales division.

In this role you will lead and coordinate sales activity for an assigned territory, utilizing expertise and other resources such as product sales, pre-sales, customer success, renewal account managers and field marketing to meet and exceed sales targets.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • At least 5 years of experience in B2B sales, sales forecasting and managing sales funnels for assigned account territory

  • At least 3 years of experience working with data i.e. analyzing, comparing, evaluating, reconciling and drawing meaningful conclusions and action plans from data.

  • Fluency in both German and English is required (written and spoken).

It would be great if you also had . . .

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related software relevant to the role

  • Prior experience in government, research and/or Library Science or related field preferred.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Owning. Owning the assigned territory and individual account plan coordination and progress, motivating and working closely with product sales, pre-sales, customer success, renewal account managers, field marketing and other relevant departments to develop an overall account plan to grow long term revenue.

  • Focusing. Focusing on new and renewal business as part of expanding Clarivate’s footprint within the accounts; typically serves as primary point to engage client.

  • Managing. Managing full portfolio forecast (renewals and new business); works closely with product sales and support teams to ensure forecast accuracy.

  • Ensuring. Ensuring full communication by entering leads, opportunities and activities in respective systems (SalesForce.com) to enable easy collaboration.

  • Managing. Managing the overall health of the account, coordinating routine checkpoints, handling business reviews, participating in new product roadmap discussions, and engaging in client meetings.

About the Team 

  • The team consists of 7 and is reporting to the Senior Sales Director.

  • Working in an international team of account managers, sales specialists and a manager. The team is very cooperative and friendly

Hours of Work

This is a full-time permanent position based in Germany or Austria.

This position requires weekday (Monday - Friday) attendance with some scheduling flexibility available around core working hours. Some weekend attendance is required, typically for travel and industry/trade events.

The teams you will work with are primarily located in EMEA and US, and you may work with teams internationally in APAC.
