JOB SUMMARY

The Account Manager serves as the primary liaison for key national accounts, fostering strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction, retention, and long-term growth. This role combines strategic sales execution with a solution-oriented approach—identifying new business opportunities, managing the full sales cycle, and delivering tailored solutions that align with client needs. Collaborating cross-functionally, the Account Manager drives revenue, ensures seamless service delivery, and positions the company as a trusted partner through consistent communication and market insight.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

  1. Responsible for client relationship management by cultivating and maintaining strategic relationships with national accounts to drive customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnerships.
  2. Drive revenue growth and account expansion by identifying new business opportunities within existing accounts and pursuing new client relationships to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  3. Lead sales execution and deal closure by managing the full sales cycle—from initial prospecting through negotiation and contract finalization—ensuring a smooth and successful client experience.
  4. Apply a solution-oriented sales approach by translating complex client needs into tailored offerings, using technical expertise and business insight to position solutions effectively.
  5. Maintain consistent client communication and reporting by providing regular updates, managing expectations, and proactively addressing potential risks or market challenges.
  6. Ensure strong cross-functional collaboration by working closely with internal teams—such as Contracts, Finance, and Operations—to support seamless onboarding and effective service delivery.
  7. Leverage market and client insight by staying informed on industry trends and client business priorities to provide strategic guidance and deliver added value.
  8. Demonstrate strong sales performance and target achievement by consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals through disciplined pipeline management and execution.
  9. Manage proposal and quote development by preparing accurate, compelling proposals, responding to RFPs, and delivering all client-facing documentation professionally and on time.

  1. Ability to build and sustain professional relationships with high-level customers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

  4. Knowledge of enterprise sales strategies and customer lifecycle management, particularly in national or large-scale accounts.

  6. Skill in managing multiple priorities, people, and tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with minimal oversight, demonstrating the ability to remain nimble and effectively pivot as priorities shift.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • This position has supervisory responsibilities. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Combination of office-based and on-site client work, which may require periodic travel by air or vehicle to customer locations, job is primarily office based
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

PLANNED BUSINESS TRAVEL 

  • This job requires 25% planned business travel (client site quarterly reviews, etc.).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.   Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field is preferred.   A relevant advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Sales Professional) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in sales or account management, with a proven track record managing national or enterprise-level accounts.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic sales plans that drive revenue growth and client retention in complex, high-value environments.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with departments such as Finance, Contracts, and Operations to support seamless onboarding and account management.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office 365 to manage sales pipelines, client communications, and reporting.
