The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Account Manager to lead Etihad’s commercial growth within the Eritrean market.

This is far more than a traditional account management role. You’ll be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with corporate customers, travel management companies (TMCs) and key trade partners, while helping establish Etihad’s long-term commercial presence in a strategically important market.

Working closely with Etihad’s regional Sales & Distribution team and our appointed General Sales Agent (GSA), you’ll develop and execute local sales strategies that increase market share, grow premium revenue and strengthen awareness of the Etihad brand.

This role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to directly influence Etihad’s success in an exciting, developing market.

Please note: This position is only open to applicants who currently hold full legal work rights in Eritrea. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and execute the local sales strategy to achieve commercial and revenue targets.
  • Build strong relationships with corporate organizations, travel management companies (TMCs), government entities and key travel partners.
  • Identify and win new business opportunities that increase Etihad’s market share.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic commercial accounts through proactive relationship management.
  • Act as Etihad’s trusted commercial representative within the Eritrean market.
  • Work collaboratively with the appointed General Sales Agent (GSA), ensuring clear alignment of responsibilities and market activities.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements in line with company policies and commercial objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior and competitor activity to identify new revenue opportunities.
  • Deliver regular market intelligence and commercial insights to regional leadership.
  • Promote new products, services and commercial initiatives to customers and partners.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and pipeline activity within Etihad’s CRM systems.
  • Represent Etihad at customer meetings, networking events and industry events.
  • Work closely with regional stakeholders to support the successful launch and continued growth of the Eritrean market.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who combines strong commercial instincts with exceptional relationship-building skills and the confidence to represent an international airline within the local market.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in airline sales, travel, hospitality or another commercial B2B sales environment.
  • Experience managing corporate accounts and/or travel management companies (TMCs).
  • Demonstrated success developing new business and growing commercial revenue.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and relationship management skills.
  • Experience working across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to analyse market trends and identify growth opportunities.
  • A proactive, self-driven approach with the ability to work independently in market.
  • Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
  • Fluency in English. Additional local languages will be considered an advantage.

The recruitment process for this position will involve the following steps:
