Role Overview  

Huntsman has an opportunity for an experienced Account Manager – Middle East with a background working both in the commodity and specialty chemical sector to join our established sales team EMEA in the Performance Products division. The focus will be on Amines Industrial Coatings & Adhesives, Oilfields Chemicals, Fuel & Lubricants & PU Catalysts. The position is a full-time contract. Based in GCC region KSA, Dubai or Abu Dhabi with up to 30% travel.  

 

Reporting to the Head of Emerging Markets Middle East, Africa, and Turkey, you will be responsible for managing & developing your client’s portfolio in GCC region to achieve significant growth aligned with sustaining the current customer base. Additional to take responsibility for achieving profitable short and long-term business objectives in line with our divisional strategy, budget, and business plans.

Role Responsibilities: 

As Account Manager - Middle East, you will: 

  • Maintain company standards regarding safety and compliance whilst promoting Huntsman’s corporate principals and company values in all areas of your work.  
  • Manage & develop all company accounts in line with our defined Sales Excellence program to manage profitable growth using value selling principles and directions set by the Head of Emerging Markets. 
  • Identify Business/market opportunities to ensure our constant growth within a fast-moving market in Middle East Region. Understand customer needs to identify Huntsman products and services to meet those requirements. 
  • Act as a growth & development champion by exceeding annual volume & margin targets. Identify, penetrate, and develop profitable market/growth in ME region in line with the Huntsman Performance Products strategy. 
  • Build strong working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to amongst others drive new business and profit expansion. 
  • Ensure that reliable management information and forecasts are produced and reported in consolidated sales forecasts. 
  • Obtain and provide market, technology and competitor intelligence to Marketing and R&D stakeholders helping to support the development of strategic plans. 
  • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders. 

 

Experience and Competencies:  

We are looking for experienced candidates with excellent communication skills and a solution focused approach.  

  • 7-10 years’ Experience in an Account and Business Development Management role within the specialty and/or commodity chemical sectors within a complex and multinational organization. 
  • Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Solid success Track record within Chemical industry and Managing Distributors in Middle East Region.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English is a must. 
  • Demonstrable negotiation skills and track record of leading value selling techniques combined with a strong background in an international environment while developing new markets. 
  • Solid knowledge and Customer network in GCC region, mainly KSA, UAE.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with customers and colleagues as part of a regional sales team. 
  • High level of team effectiveness with the ability to contribute to cross functional groups involving Marketing, Technical Service, Supply Chain and Customer Service. 
  • Previous experience in key account management and maximizing market share in existing customer bases. 
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of time. 
  • Highly driven personality with the ability to adapt well in a fast-moving industry & to develop business opportunities.
