The Account Manager Lombardia is responsible for driving sustainable commercial growth across the Lombardia territory by managing and expanding customer relationships within histopathology laboratories. This role has a direct impact on revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and the adoption of Leica Biosystems’ full portfolio of solutions.
This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager and is part of the Italian Sales Organization working remotely to cover the Lombardia region.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Drive sales growth by managing existing accounts and developing new business opportunities across public and private histopathology laboratories
Promote and sell the full Leica Biosystems portfolio, including instruments, consumables, and digital solutions, in alignment with territory strategy
Manage complex sales processes, including public tenders, pricing negotiations, and key account planning
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including pathologists, lab managers, and procurement departments.
Collaborate closely with internal teams (Applications, Service, Marketing) to ensure optimal customer experience and successful solution implementation
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; a life‑science degree (e.g. Biology, Biotechnology) is preferred
Multiple years of experience in a commercial role, preferably within the medical device, diagnostics, or life‑science industries.
Proven experience managing a sales territory and achieving revenue and growth targets.
Business‑level proficiency in English
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Availability to travel frequently within the assigned territory, including occasional overnight travel.
Must hold a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Sales within anatomical pathology / histopathology environments
Managing public tenders and working with hospital procurement processes
Using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce (SFDC)
