Position DescriptionPIMCO is seeking an Account Manager to join our Institutional Corporate Client Group. This role is structured for a recent MBA graduate (completed within the last 5 years) who is looking to build a long-term career in institutional client coverage within a leading global asset manager.
PIMCO’s client management team is comprised of client-facing relationship management and sales professionals (Account Managers) who are directly responsible for contributing to the firm’s success through a combination of client relationship management and business development initiatives. Account Managers represent PIMCO to our clients and prospective clients and seek to deliver investment solutions that leverage PIMCO’s position as one of the world’s premier fixed income and alternative investment managers.
This role sits within that team. Partnering closely with senior Account Managers, you will support coverage of some of the firm’s most sophisticated institutional clients, helping ensure that senior team members are well-prepared for client engagements and that incoming client requests are addressed in a timely, thoughtful, and coordinated manner. Over time, the role offers increasing opportunities for direct client interaction.
Initially, your focus will be on developing a strong understanding of your clients’ objectives, portfolios, and priorities, and on helping translate PIMCO’s investment perspectives—macroeconomic views, portfolio positioning, and performance—into materials and insights that support client discussions. While senior Account Managers lead overall relationship strategy, you will play an important role in supporting those efforts as you build the foundation to contribute more directly in the future.
The role operates within a highly collaborative team responsible for supporting relationships with many of the firm’s most important clients. It offers meaningful exposure to clients and senior stakeholders across PIMCO including portfolio managers, product specialists, and senior Account Managers, with a clear emphasis on learning, mentorship, and professional development.
This is a relationship management role rather than a dedicated sales role and is well suited for individuals motivated to build deep expertise in institutional client coverage. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, sound judgment, a client-centric mindset, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
NOTE: We are open to considering candidates at various levels of expertise. The salary range for this position will be commensurate with core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, if applicable, market factors, as well as individual experience and qualifications.
