Job Description

As the Account Manager, you will represent the Facial Aesthetics product portfolio to targeted aesthetic customers within your area. You will be responsible for enhancing the adoption of the Facial Aesthetics Portfolio by working synergistically alongside medical, marketing, and clinical teams

This customer segment is in expansion mode and, as the Account Manager, you will be responsible for accelerating the growth and protecting market share for Allergan.

This is a fixed-term, 12 month contract opportunity.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Activities

  • Achieve or exceed agreed sales targets within the assigned territory.
  • Build and develop business relationships with customers.
  • Design executable business plans for territory and key accounts aligned with cycle marketing strategy and promotional programs to drive rapid uptake within accounts.
  • Develop business opportunities utilizing AbbVie’s selling framework with new and existing clients to build/ maintain product loyalty and increase market share. This includes the identification of KOLs and the focus on building relationships and business opportunities with these customers.
  • Conduct regular business plan/sales reviews, including market share analysis, and adjust strategies and tactics accordingly to ensure execution of the plans is on track.
  • Identify potential sales and marketing opportunities, communicating these to your National Sales Manager and the marketing team.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of each customer’s current product choice and usage, and maintain account analysis profiles utilising VEEVA.
  • Keep accurate, up to date records of all customer visits and agreements, as well as maintaining other relevant customer data necessary to meet customer needs.

Product Sales, Support and Direction

  • Utilise the digital sales aid to clearly articulate product key selling messages and clinical data.
  • Execute to third line sales requirements as directed by the Medical Aesthetics portfolio strategy.
  • Oversee product support and direction in clinic of Botox and Juvederm in line with Clinical Medical Information and product information materials (no AMI or MD Codes technique support to be applied).
  • Aid in the support of best practice consultation and assessment of patients.
  • Direct injector requests for clinical facilitation through the defined VEEVA process.

Therapeutic Area Knowledge

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of Allergan and competitor product range.  Be able to communicate the value difference in terms of efficacy, safety, price and market strategy to customers.
  • Maintain high level of therapeutic knowledge of Allergan products and aging & anatomy through the internal 6 monthly certification program.
  • Monitor market trends through personal contact with clients, suppliers and attendance at industry association meetings and seminars.  Communicate changes in competition, product availability or related matters to sales and marketing management.

Business Administration

  • Keep accurate, weekly records of all customer visits, as well as maintaining other relevant customer data necessary to meet customer needs utilizing the VEEVA system.
  • Keep current territory business reviews and account plans on designated BOX folder.
  • Attend sales meetings, conferences, training and other work related functions as required.
  • Ensure all sales activities comply with legal and ethical requirements.
  • Manage business expenses within the budget and the Travel & Expenses Policy.

Quality

  • Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per Allergan’s policies and procedures
  • Support Allergan’s Quality Management System and internal auditing processes.
  • Adhere to Medicines Australia Code of Conduct.

Workplace Health & Safety

  • Proactively participate in Allergan’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.

General

  • Adhere to Allergan’s internal codes of conduct and compliance processes.
  • Other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested.

Qualifications

Education

  • Qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Sales and Commerce advantageous

Skills and Abilities

  • Successful completion of relevant tertiary qualifications within Science or Healthcare 
  • Understanding of the selling cycle and territory management practices
  • Ability to learn the relevant human anatomy

Experience

  • Several years’ experience in a specialty representative selling role working within the pharmaceutical /healthcare industry
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets
