Account Manager, Assembly
This role sits within the Daniel J. Edelman family of companies, the world’s largest independent communications firm. The team supports a long-standing, global partnership with one of the world’s leading technology organizations, delivering integrated marketing and communications work at scale.
Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Account Manager to join Edelman’s Corporate Practice. This role will focus primarily on supporting some of the world’s largest technology companies to drive strategic communications programs that strengthen corporate reputation and thought leadership in Japan market. The ideal candidate will have strong client and project management skills, lead with both critical thinking and creativity, drive flawless execution of campaigns, and mentor junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership & Strategic Counsel
Serve as a day-to-day contact for clients, in partnership with senior client lead, to provide proactive counsel and manage expectations. Develop and execute integrated corporate communications strategies, including media relations, executive positioning, creator engagement, and reputation management. Translate complex technology and corporate narratives into compelling stories for B2Baudiences.
Media Outreach & Campaign Management
Lead media relations efforts, including pitching, securing coverage, and managing relationships with top-tier journalists. Oversee development of press materials, messaging frameworks, and content for earned and social media channels. Monitor industry trends and identify opportunities for client visibility.
Team Leadership & Development
Manage and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence. Provide coaching and feedback to support professional development and ensure high-quality deliverables. Allocate resources effectively and maintain operational performance across projects.
Project & Financial Management
Oversee campaign timelines, budgets, and reporting to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope. Contribute to forecasting and account profitability management.
Qualifications & Skills
10+ years of experience in PR or communications, ideally within technology or corporate sectors.
Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver integrated campaigns.
Strong media relations expertise with established journalist contacts in technology and business media.
Excellent writing and storytelling skills; ability to craft compelling narratives.
Experience managing and motivating teams; strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple priorities.
Business fluency in Japanese, English language skills are a plus.
