Why Join Stand: At Stand, you’ll help build a new class of global property protection. We use advanced physics and AI to model catastrophic risk at the asset level, then automate underwriting and mitigation before loss occurs. Insurance is simply the current delivery mechanism. The real product is a scalable risk engine.
We stay when traditional insurers exit. We model what others approximate. And we build systems that change outcomes, not just prices.
Background: The property insurance industry is built to price loss after it happens. It relies on coarse proxies, backward-looking data, and manual processes, then accepts damage as unavoidable.
Stand takes a different approach. We simulate how real-world catastrophes affect individual properties, translate that into actionable decisions, and automate the business around it. The result is a platform that can underwrite what others can’t and operate with far less friction.

Role Summary:

You power Stand’s growth engine – owning relationships with our key channel partners and driving sales conversions end-to-end. You will qualify leads and turn them into fast, bindable deals through a precise, system-driven process, delivering high throughput, strong conversion, and a broker experience defined by clarity, speed, and reliability.

As an operator close to the workflow, you also improve the system itself – identifying gaps in rules, tools, and processes and feeding insights to RevOps, Product, and Risk UW. You combine executional excellence with continuous improvement to help Stand scale with speed and discipline.

Operating Style that wins:

  • Speed, clarity, and precision.

  • Reliably apply underwriting guidelines and pricing rails.

  • Proactively manage pipeline—no stale or unowned submissions.

  • Communicate concisely and numerically; eliminate ambiguity for brokers.

  • Escalate intelligently: only true exceptions go to Risk UW.

  • Collaborate smoothly with underwriting, product, and operations.

What You Bring:

Experiences that give you an edge:

  • 4+ years of sales experience, preferably in a channel sales environment

  • A track record of hitting ambitious sales or production goals.

  • Experience at an insurance broker or carrier (Strongly preferred).

  • Ability to explain pricing, risk, and protection concepts simply.

  • Experience in lean, tech-forward, or rules-based environments.

Non-Negotiable Competencies:

  • Experience in a Sales capacity in the insurance industry, ideally in P&C.

  • Exceptional rigor and detail orientation (clean files, clean quotes).

  • High bandwidth—can manage a large pipeline without dropping details.

  • Strong sense of urgency; operates fast without sacrificing accuracy.

  • Operator mindset—solves the business problem, not the craft problem.

  • Comfort with targets, incentives, and competing to win.

Dis-qualifiers:

  • Not having experience in a Sales capacity in the insurance industry

  • Low follow-through or poor organization.

  • Discomfort with sales or relationship-building.

  • Preference for deep analytical underwriting over high-throughput production.

  • Resistance to rules-based or automated underwriting.

  • Avoidance of ambiguity, speed, or commercial decision-making.

  • Non-collaborative or ego-driven behaviors.

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for full-time employees in this position is $115,000 to $125,000 + up to 50% commission of base salary + meaningful Equity Grant.
Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

Benefits:

  • Weekly lunch stipend

  • Flexible time off + holidays
