Job Description

About the Role 

Visa is seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Manager, Account Executive to join our Client Engagement team, focused on merchants and payment enablers. This role is critical to Visa’s growth strategy in Australia, driving new business, transaction growth, and deepening client relationships with Visa's Value Added Services.
 
You will lead the charge in hunting and winning new merchant deals, renewing existing agreements, and partnering with specialist sellers to deliver tailored, high-impact solutions across our Value Added Services. 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic Merchant Engagement 

- Lead full-cycle execution of commercial agreements with merchants and payment acceptance enablers, from discovery and proposal to negotiation and finalisation. 
- Drive transaction growth by identifying and converting high-potential payment acceptance opportunities. 
- Renew and expand existing partnerships with a focus on long-term partner satisfaction and alignment of partner growth objectives. 

Value Added Services (VAS) Expansion 

- Build and manage a VAS pipeline across marketing, analytics, loyalty, risk and acceptance platform solutions. 
- Partner with specialist sellers to co-create and deliver integrated solutions tailored to client needs. 
- Promote Visa’s differentiated capabilities through consultative selling and solution-led engagement. 

Account Leadership & Planning 

- Own client relationships across key acceptance partner accounts, ensuring consistent engagement and growth. 
- Lead account planning, forecasting, and performance tracking using Visa’s sales dashboards and CRM tools. 
- Collaborate with Sales Operations, Legal, and Product teams to ensure seamless deal execution and compliance. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

- Work closely with Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA), Acceptance Platform, Loyalty, Product, Risk, and Marketing teams to deliver holistic client solutions. 
- Engage with Acquirers, Payfacs, and Enablers to support merchant onboarding and solution deployment. 

What We’re Looking For 

- Proven experience in merchant sales, account management, or business development in payments, fintech, or retail. 
- Strong understanding of the payment acceptance landscape including regulatory and competitive trends, merchant service fee economics and economic value drivers. 
- Demonstrated success in consultative selling, pipeline management, and cross-functional collaboration. 
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. 
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance short-term execution and long-term planning

Qualifications

  • Extensive business experience with related sales and account management experience in the payments or B2B technology industry 
  • Strong business development and negotiation skills, proven track record of successfully pitching for new business and growing business with existing clients
  • Results oriented individual who delivers a positive impact on business performance
  • A record in leading and developing high performance team members and teams
  • Excellent verbal, analytical and written communications skills with the ability to establish effective relationships with senior client and internal executives
  • Experience in strategic account plan development and management. Successfully executing against them with a collaborative mind-set
  • Strong commercial acumen and astuteness
  • Self-starter with exemplary organisational and issue resolution management skills
  • Significant stakeholder management experience with a proven ability to manage and grow cross functional relationships locally, regionally and globally
