The Role
Description

We’re looking for an experienced and driven Account Executive to join our Sales team. In this role, you will focus on identifying and closing new business opportunities with existing clients and mid-sized international companies. You’ll be selling Papaya's cutting-edge platform that simplifies global payroll, payments, and workforce management. 

Key Responsibilities 

New Business Development 

  • Generate new business opportunities with a focus on mid-sized global organizations and post-IPO companies. 
  • Identify and engage key stakeholders and decision-makers within target accounts. 
  • Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, client needs, and competitive positioning. 

Sales Execution 

  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing. 
  • Deliver compelling, tailored demos and proposals to client stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure smooth handovers to service delivery. 

Consultative Selling 

  • Understand and articulate client challenges related to global payroll, compliance, and international HR operations. 
  • Recommend solutions that demonstrate Papaya’s value and ROI. 
  • Operate with a consultative, solution-oriented approach. 

Cross-functional Collaboration 

  • Work closely with Sales, Product, and Operations teams to align client needs with platform capabilities. 
  • Share insights and feedback from the field to support continuous improvement. 

About You

  • 2–3+ years of quota‑carrying B2B sales experience—SaaS, fintech, payroll or HR platform exposure is preferred.
  • Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Confident closing experience selling enterprise-grade software and services.
  • Excellent communicator with persuasive presentation skills and consultative selling approach.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth tech scale-up environment.
  • Empathetic listener who builds trust with clients and internal teams.
  • International/multi-currency payroll knowledge a plus.
  • Ideal Profile
  • Background selling payroll/HCM/payments/enterprise software
  • Comfortable navigating complex sales environments involving compliance, finance, IT.
  • Quick self-starter, able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Thrives in scale-up environments and embraces change.

Requirements
  • Prospect, qualify, and close new business within mid‑market and enterprise segments for our global payroll solutions.
  • Manage full sales cycle: from initial outreach, demoing our platform, negotiating contracts, to winning the deal.
  • Build a robust pipeline through outbound campaigns, partnerships, and solution-led demos.
  • Own your territory and quarterly sales quota, forecasting accurately and delivering consistently.
  • Act as a trusted advisor—understanding clients’ global payroll pain points (e.g., compliance, multi-currency, HCM integration).
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Product, and Marketing teams.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, webinars, and webinars to build brand presence and network.

Nice to have
  • Experience with tools such as Salesforce, LI Navigator, Gong, Slack, or MS Teams. 
  • Exposure to international expansion and workforce management trends. 
  • Strong proposal writing and presentation skills (Word, PowerPoint, Google Slides).
