Salary Range

$59,140-$76,990

Position OverviewAs an Account Executive, you will serve as the on-site liaison between C&S and our customer. You will coordinate with the customer and C&S corporate partners regarding service level issues, inventory management, costing, and troubleshooting day to day issues.

Job Description

You will contribute by:

  • Maximizing sales with existing customer, using the C&S programs and apply individual knowledge and experience in both retail and wholesale to increase sales and gross profit for our customer.
  • Establishing and following an escalation process to ensure the customer and the C&S partners are aware of all inventory issues that have the potential impact the business, and identifying and implementing process improvements to eliminate or minimize inventory issues that might negatively impact the business
  • Tracking and reporting on results weekly in the following areas: Leftover Ad Inventory, Dead/Excess Inventory, Unauthorized/Reserve Inventory Management, Discontinued, Slow Moving and Close Coded Items.
  • Building working relationships with C&S regional staff and customer. Understanding the obstacles and challenges from both sides in order to resolve issue and find solutions.
  • Individual store visits, weekly, monthly and quarterly to assist our customer in achieving and maintaining a business relationship with C&S including problem solving, negotiating, development of programs while securing integrity and trust between C&S and our customer.
  • Resolving issues relating to billing and weekly statements. Requiring the knowledge and the resources to find solution to customer financial questions
  • Coordinating and participating in scheduling and delivery issues. Working with Transportation to establish and adjust schedules, particular for seasonal and holiday changes.
  • Coordinating anticipated merchandise (Ad/TPR) needs between customer and C&S procurement team. Sales of new programs and services.
  • Understanding and explaining C&S programs and services to our customer's buyers/ representatives and conduct business reviews.
  • Assisting retailers with ad layout, special advertising, and special events. Develop and coordinate the best practices for the retailer through working with the Ad Manager.
  • Coordinating store re-sets and new item procurement and placement for our customer. Sell special buy programs, such as shipper program, holiday candy, seasonal events, and holiday items.
  • Planning and suggesting equipment replacement and upgrades, taking operation and financial matters into consideration, such as return on investment, appearance/placement, and profit.
  • Counseling our customers on the control of operating expenses, including payroll, inventory control, utilities, capital expenditures, and gross profit. Keeping both the customer and C&S informed of competitive activities both locally and nationally.
  • Coordinating between customer and private label representatives, and between customer and manufacture/broker sales representatives.

  • Office: Office Temperature (65F to 75F)

Skills

  • Specialized Knowledge: knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of procurement and merchandising aspects of the food retail business.
  • Special Skills: Strong analytical skills required. Effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and teamwork skills. Able to be influential, negotiate, and establish positive working relationships across the organization and with all levels of management.
  • Other: Willing to work outside normal business hours and very occasional weekends when necessary.

Years Of Experience

  • 2-5 years of grocery wholesale or grocery retail experience preferred; Retail sales or account management experience a plus.
