Summary:
The Marin Independent Journal is seeking an Account Executive to join the team! We offer a base salary with uncapped commission and bonus opportunities – you control your income! – and open territory selling. This is a hybrid position with monthly in-office expectations in San Rafael. Must be located in the North Bay or Marin County area.
What you will do:
Develop effective advertising programs to meet advertisers’ marketing objectives with a combination of both print and digital advertising
Heavy prospecting and developing sales plans, particularly for digital opportunities, for new and current clients
Assess sales opportunities, develop customer digital programs and create proposals that demonstrate value
Achieve sales goals and objectives; performance indicators include revenue, active accounts, contract performance and share of market
Sales administration including aging and flash reports; accurate processing of ad orders
What you will bring:
1-3 years prior experience and proven track record in digital marketing or sales; media sales experience a plus
Deep knowledge of internet and mobile advertising
Passion for consultative selling skills and the ability to close sales
Ability to create and present proactive print and digital campaigns
Ability to see opportunities for your clients and up sell
Strong computer skills required, with proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Written and verbal communication skills, while providing excellent customer service
Detail oriented with excellent time management skills
Bachelor's Degree in related course of study preferred or equivalent experience
Benefits and Compensation:
The hourly range is $24.04 - $26.44 ($50,003.20 - $54,995.20) plus monthly, uncapped commission. On-target earnings (OTE) for this role range from $90,000 to $120,000 annually, which includes base pay and average commission; high performers may exceed this range. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, the Company offers eligible employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, as well as paid time off and select paid holidays (all benefits are based on eligibility).
