The Role

The Modo team is looking for a passionate mission-driven Account Executive with start-up SaaS sales experience. This role will be responsible for owning, managing and driving the sales process through close. You’ll cultivate client relationships, implement sales strategies and drive revenue growth. This is an opportunity to shape the future of a rapidly growing start-up committed to environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities: 

  • Prospect and develop new business opportunities through a mix of inbound and outbound strategies (cold calling, email outreach, networking events).
  • Qualify leads and identify ideal customer profiles (ICPs) to ensure a strong sales pipeline.
  • Deliver compelling product demos and presentations, effectively communicating the value proposition to potential customers.
  • Navigate complex sales conversations, addressing client needs and pain points.
  • Negotiate and close deals, securing contracts and exceeding assigned sales quotas.
  • Onboard new customers and ensure successful product adoption.
  • Foster strong relationships with new and existing clients, providing ongoing support and exceeding expectations.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, maximizing customer lifetime value.
  • Gather customer feedback to inform product development and improve the overall customer experience.
  • Contribute to the development of the sales strategy and play a key role in shaping the future of the company.

Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of experience crushing sales goals at a pre-seed, Series A, or Series B SaaS startup, independently closing deals.
  • 1+ years of proven ability to navigate the full sales cycle within a fast-paced startup environment, managing complex, multi-threaded sales processes for enterprise accounts.
  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding quota in a high-growth startup with a history of exceeding targets by X% (quantify your success).
  • Experience closing high-value contracts consistently exceeding $50,000, contributing significantly to achieving revenue targets set (or similar metric).
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated through impactful client presentations and demos.
  • Adept at building strong, long-term customer relationships and fostering trust through clear and compelling communication.
  • Thrive in an autonomous environment, possessing a strong sense of ownership and the ability to self-motivate in a fast-paced startup setting.
  • Proven ability to manage your time effectively and prioritize tasks independently to achieve ambitious goals.

Important Details:

  • Compensation: For applicants based in New York, the base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $125,000, with an additional 50% on-target earnings (OTE) potential.
  • Hybrid Work Environment: This role is hybrid, meaning you’ll split your time between working from home and our New York office, with in-office days from Tuesday through Thursday.
  • Benefits: Salary is just one component of Modo Energy's total compensation package. Your rewards at Modo Energy include 25 days of annual leave, medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k matching, disability and term life insurance, parental leave, paid vacation, and your birthday off.
