The role of Account Executive:
Career track and level: Individual Contributor Level 2
As Account Executive, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, qualifying and converting potential customers. You will conduct in-depth discovery calls to understand customer needs and present our solutions effectively. Your role will involve guiding customers through the entire sales process, from initial contact to contract negotiation, ensuring a positive and seamless experience.
You will also be working closely with other internal teams at Glean including the wider Sales team and the Demand Generation team.
Meet the team:
The Glean Sales team is made up of three areas that work seamlessly together. Together, our team focuses on North American Higher Educational sales, led by our Sales Manager (Izzy):
- Account Executive team consisting of one Account Executive (James) and two Senior Account Executives (Mais and Izzy) plus the Account Executive role we’re currently hiring for
- Account Management team consisting of one Account Manager and one Junior Account Manager.
- Sales Development Representative team, led by our SDR Team Lead and supported by our three Sales Development Representatives.

What you’ll be doing:
🌱 Prospecting and engaging with potential customers.
🔎 Qualifying leads and delivering compelling product demonstrations.
🤔 Be curious to understand customer problems and requirements, and how Glean can solve institutional challenges with peer note taking and other accommodations.
🤝 Guiding customers through the sales process, from initial contact to closing deals.
💰 Developing account growth strategies to maximise revenue.
📈 Tracking and reporting on key sales activities.
💡 Identifying ways to improve upselling strategies, pitches and processes.
🤍 Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Customer Success and Product, to advocate for our key customers.
About you:
Essential:
- 1+ years in a sales or business development role (Account Executive/Business Development Manager or similar)
- Experience with SaaS products
- Growth mindset: thinking big, taking initiative and continuously learning
- Proven experience in relationship management
- Ability to take ownership and accountability
Bonus / Nice to have:
- Experience working in the EdTech sector
💰Salary and benefits:
£33,000 - £38,000 dependent upon experience.
Our commission structure for the Account Executive role at Glean is uncapped. Would expect the OTE to be in the region of £60k-75k.

Location:
We have a beautiful office space in Leeds and we love it when we get together to collaborate in person. We typically operate a hybrid way of working, however some of our roles support remote working within the UK, if you live more than 50 miles from the office.

If we invite you to meet with us for interview, here’s an overview of what the process will look like:
- Screening interview with someone in our Recruitment team (30 minutes).
- First stage interview with the hiring manager and another Glean colleague (1 hour).
- Final stage interview which includes a 1 hour culture and values interview, plus a 30 minute task. You will be meeting with the hiring manager and one of the Executive Team.
Ahead of your interview you will receive a confirmation email outlining who you’ll be meeting and when, anything you’ll need to prepare in advance and any resources we think you might find helpful.
