JOB OVERVIEW:
The Account Executive responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with key individuals and organizations, in order to create and enhance profitable business opportunities aimed at achieving the strategic objectives of the Company. Additionally, the position provides support for marketing and implementing the Company’s products, for the Local, Eastern Caribbean and Northern Caribbean territories.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
New  Business and Business Retention 
• Act as a liaison between the Company, Insurance Broker and Corporate Entities aimed at creating and identifying business opportunities and securing new business for the Company.     
• Provide sales and marketing support to the field force by preparing presentation and visiting clients with agents and also to assist with the preparation and delivery of Group Insurance training modules to both staff and the field force.    
• Assist in maintaining the database of current and prospective clients for the Group Insurance Sales, through market analysis and market research through better profiling of our captive market. 
• Solicit, nurture, develop, and maintain sound professional relationships with potential and existing Group Life, Group Health, Group Creditor & Mortgage Clients. Review GLOC’s service standards with stakeholders within the Trinidad & Tobago/ Barbados and Eastern Caribbean.
• Prepare and execute proposals/tenders and business presentation for Group Insurance Products and Services including supporting literature for sales process. 
• Follow up on Proposals/Tenders to prospects with a view to closing sales of New Business. 
                     
2. Premium Collection 
• To assist with the Premium Collection for Group Health and Life Business.

3. Report Management 
• Prepare varying Business Reports for Management as requested. (For examples New Business, Client/Broker Visits, Renewals, Quarterly Reports for Large Plans and Proposal Report.)
• Analysis and Review of Loss Ratios (for Barbados only)

4. Projects and Business Support 
• Support Employee Benefits Front and Back Office administratively
• Assist in project activities such as Initiatives and any other projects as deemed necessary by Management.

5. To perform any other job related duties as assigned by the Manager.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• First Degree in Business Administration, Management or a related field from a recognized tertiary level educational institution 
• Certified Financial Planner Certification 
• 5 CXC/ CSEC 
• 3 A’ Level/ CAPE subjects (2 A’ Level/ CAPE not applicable for Barbados)
• LOMA 280, 290, ACS 100 and all related parts 
• Agent license (not applicable to Barbados)
• Business Insurance Course 251 and experience in group sales (not     applicable to Barbados)
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a Life, Health and Insurance environment with detailed exposure to group underwriting and marketing. 
• At least Three (3) years’ experience in insurance sales (not applicable to Barbados)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
As a regulated entity with obligations under the Know Your Employee guidelines, a Certificate of Character is required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
The Account Executive must be able to work under minimum supervision. He/ She should possess the ability to manage several tasks while meeting deadlines. The individual should be able to use his/her initiative to function at maximum efficiency within a high paced environment requiring strict adherence to project deadlines and budgets. He/ She must be highly motivated with strong ethics, strong business/project orientation and excellent team spirit. The Account Executive must be articulate, confident and assertive and possess a high energy level with an equal amount of enthusiasm. The incumbent must possess the ability to assume leadership and accept accountability.

Skills Required

  • First Degree in Business Administration, Management or related field
  • Certified Financial Planner Certification
  • Five (5) CXC / CSEC subjects
  • Three (3) A' Level / CAPE subjects (country-specific applicability noted)
  • LOMA 280, 290, ACS 100 and all related parts
  • Agent license (not applicable to Barbados)
  • Business Insurance Course 251 and experience in group sales (not applicable to Barbados)
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in Life, Health and Insurance with exposure to group underwriting and marketing
