We’re looking for a dynamic and disciplined Account Executive that can provide leadership, direction, and support to Telesat Lightspeed’s US business. 

The Account Executive, Telco will develop and execute the Business Development and Sales Strategy for Telesat Lightspeed LEO services in the US, with a special focus on the Telco, MNOs, Service Providers and large End Users.  The position is based in Bethesda, MD.

This position reports to the Regional Sales Vice President, US and is responsible for aligning Telesat Lightspeed business development objectives with the company’s US business strategy and business plan. 

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute sales strategies and customer specific account plan for Telesat Lightspeed, working closely with internal stakeholders.
  • Evangelize Telesat Lightspeed in the market, create interest at decision making level (C-suite, technology/planning heads), influence long-term network strategy and connectivity requirements of prospects.
  • Build sales and distribution channel partnerships in particular in the Telco market for Telesat Lightspeed. Subsequently manage the channel partners.
  • Achieve and exceed a set revenue and booking targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, legal, etc.) to address customer needs, develop customer specific offers and resolve customer issues.
  • Lead proposal development and negotiation efforts in response to customer inquiries and proactive discussions; participate with customers in identifying applications and strategic business solutions.
  • Use CRM tools to manage customer relationships, track opportunities, and monitor pipeline progression.
  • Provide periodic reports and market insights to senior management on customer and industry activities and strategic developments.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development and sales with a strong focus on the telco and enterprise telecommunications markets.
  • Experience in satellite communications and/or in building and managing channel partner relationships a plus.
  • Comfortable operating at a senior (C-suite) level.
  • Must be a self-starter, energetic, commercially astute and a strong team player.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute in dynamic, VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) environments.
  • Track record of complete sales skills, from development of qualified funnel to negotiation and closing, having consistently exceeded objectives.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Ability to travel to attend customer meetings and events across the region.
