Key Responsibilities

As an SMB Account Executive, you will be the primary point of contact for prospective customers, owning the sales strategy from initial outreach to successful deal closure.

  • Market Expansion & Hunting: Proactively hunt for new business and secure new logos within the vibrant SMB space across Australia and New Zealand.

  • Strategic Account Mapping: Deeply research prospective accounts to map out their organizational structures, identify key decision-makers, and understand their existing technology stacks.

  • Executive Engagement & Discovery: Engage directly with IT leaders and senior executives. Orchestrate meaningful discussions centered around their specific business challenges and how emerging technologies can resolve them.

  • Value Demonstration: Confidently demonstrate—verbally, in writing, and through live product demos—how prospective customers can capture immediate value, modernize legacy systems, and envision their future with OutSystems. Provide high-level technical overviews pertinent to their specific use cases.

  • Pipeline & Sales Cycle Management: Meet and consistently exceed sales targets. Effectively manage your opportunities and pipeline health through the entire sales cycle, handling objections and negotiating successfully.

  • Account Growth: Strategically advocate for platform upgrades and formulate comprehensive growth plans for existing accounts.

  • Omnichannel Selling: Leverage social media (e.g., LinkedIn), digital platforms, video conferencing, chat, and phone to effectively reach, sell to, and manage your prospect base.

Qualifications

We are looking for an achievement-driven, tech-savvy sales professional who combines a "hunter" mentality with the ability to build genuine, long-term partnerships typical of the Australian business culture.

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of quota-carrying sales experience, specifically selling technology or software into the Australian SMB space.

  • Technical Acumen: A solid understanding of cloud computing technologies, IT business drivers, and emerging trends (including AI). The capacity to learn quickly and retain knowledge about complex software solutions to effectively advise IT decision-makers.

  • Sales Strategy: A proven track record of recognizing the distinct stages in a prospect's buying cycle and nurturing an opportunity from initial discovery through to a successful close.

  • Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to handle objections, navigate roadblocks, and negotiate effectively with a direct, transparent, and collaborative approach.

  • Drive & Autonomy: An achievement-oriented personality, highly motivated by performance rewards and exceeding annual sales goals. Solid time management skills with the ability to work independently with a high level of integrity.
