Who we areAbout Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

Payments Product Sales is a team of deep functional and technical specialists who lead and advise on opportunities for some of the most strategically important products in Stripe’s portfolio. We work alongside Stripe’s Core Sales and Customer Success teams to help users adopt products that improve their payment experiences, support international growth, and create new sources of revenue.

We are hiring an Account Executive, Product - Buy Now Pay Later to grow adoption of Klarna and Affirm among Stripe users across APAC. Based in Australia, this role will have an initial emphasis on Australia and other priority APAC markets. The Account Executive will primarily lead customer-facing sales motions and will also work with Stripe’s Partnerships team and our BNPL partners on strategic three-party opportunities.

What you’ll do

As an Account Executive, Product focused on Buy Now Pay Later, you will be a quota-carrying product-sales overlay responsible for growing adoption and payment volume across new and existing Stripe users. You will partner closely with Core Account Executives and Customer Success Managers throughout the sales cycle—from identifying and qualifying opportunities through commercial negotiation, technical validation, implementation, activation, and expansion.

You will develop deep expertise in Klarna, Affirm, the BNPL market, and the needs of users operating across APAC. You will lead business and technical conversations with stakeholders ranging from product and engineering teams to C-level executives, helping users understand how BNPL can support their customer experience and growth objectives. For strategic opportunities, you will coordinate across the user, Stripe, and the BNPL provider to align commercial terms, implementation plans, and launch requirements.

You are an adept salesperson who can build value in complex and competitive situations. You are comfortable navigating technical product discussions, complex customer organizations, and multi-party negotiations. You are equally effective with users and internal stakeholders, and you enjoy turning early customer signals into repeatable go-to-market motions.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver against an individual quota by driving adoption and payment volume for Klarna, Affirm and new potential BNPL partners across new and existing Stripe users in APAC.
  • Partner with Core Account Executives and Customer Success Managers to identify, qualify, develop, and close high-potential BNPL opportunities.
  • Build territory and account strategies that reflect user needs and payment preferences across Australia and other priority APAC markets.
  • Lead discovery with business, product, finance, and technical stakeholders and articulate a clear value proposition for BNPL adoption.
  • Develop customer-specific business cases that connect BNPL to user growth, customer experience, conversion, and global expansion objectives.
  • Navigate complex sales cycles and lead negotiations involving users, Stripe, and BNPL partners, working closely with Partnerships on commercial structure and partner alignment.
  • Coordinate with Solutions Architecture, Product, Engineering, and Post-Sales teams to translate user requirements into viable solutions and help users progress from decision to implementation and activation.
  • Maintain senior relationships with users and develop productive working relationships with Klarna, Affirm and new potential BNPL partners.
  • Monitor adoption and payment volume after launch, identify expansion opportunities, and work with account teams to address barriers to growth.
  • Serve as an internal and customer-facing BNPL expert, creating enablement and repeatable sales plays that improve the effectiveness of Stripe’s broader field organization.
  • Synthesize market intelligence and user feedback for Product, Engineering, Partnerships, and Marketing to help inform product and go-to-market priorities.
