What is the role? 

The Account Executive will work closely with Media and Entertainment marketers and their agencies to help them reach audiences by leveraging Roku's massive scale, first-party data, and cross-platform measurement solutions. This role partners with brands in the media and entertainment vertical to demonstrate how to best leverage Roku's advertising platform in a rapidly evolving streaming landscape. The Account Executive will collaborate with Roku's product and creative solutions teams to develop innovative, first-to-market advertising executions. This individual will define business drivers and build strategies that align Roku's unique capabilities with client objectives. The role involves managing a book of business against ambitious advertising revenue goals while maintaining strong relationships with senior-level decision makers at entertainment studios and agencies. The Account Executive will gather marketplace insights to inform new ad products and measurement solutions, contributing to the continued growth of Roku's advertising business. This role reports to the Director, Head of Industry, Media and Entertainment on the advertising sales team. 

This position is a hybrid role, Monday – Thursday in office with the option to work from home on Friday. This position is based in Santa Monica, CA.

For California Only - The estimated annual total cash for this position is between $206,000 - $218,000. This cash range includes on-target earnings from commission.

Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.

What are the responsibilities of the role? 
  • Meet regularly with entertainment clients and their agencies to understand business objectives and present Roku advertising solutions 
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior-level decision makers at key entertainment partners and agencies 
  • Identify opportunities for new approaches that increase team effectiveness and drive revenue growth 
  • Define important business drivers and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop strategies that leverage Roku's scale, first-party data, measurement capabilities, and unique ad products 
  • Gather marketplace insights to help inform and build new ad products and measurement solutions 
  • Work against ambitious advertising revenue goals as a key individual contributor 
  • Report on revenue projections and forecasts to leadership 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Roku's product and creative solutions teams on innovative advertising executions 

What experience would help someone be successful in this role at Roku? 
  • The equivalent of 5 or more years of TV and digital video sales experience in the media and entertainment vertical; experience in other verticals is also valued 
  • The equivalent of 5 or more years of sales experience with performance marketing in a managed service or self-service environment focused on media and entertainment 
  • A demonstrated track record of closing deals with key entertainment partners and their respective agencies, with particular value placed on theatrical and gaming experience 
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with internal collaborators across cross-functional teams 
  • Experience influencing clients and driving business outcomes through strong relationship management 
  • A strategic and analytical sales approach with the ability to navigate ambiguity and manage multiple priorities simultaneously 
  • The ability to work collaboratively on projects in cross-functional team settings, both internally and externally 
  • An understanding of the FAST, SVOD, and AVOD landscape and how Roku advertising solutions drive business goals for advertisers 
  • An understanding of the digital advertising landscape and industry trends, with the ability to apply a Roku perspective for the organization
