Position Overview

The Account Executive is responsible for serving as a strategic sales leader and proactively generating revenue growth for XCEL solutions by managing key accounts and developing new business opportunities across insurance, financial services, and related organizations.

This role is focused on expanding relationships with organizations that need pre-licensing and continuing education solutions, while identifying untapped market opportunities and supporting cross-selling efforts across the broader Colibri portfolio. The ideal candidate brings a strong hunter mindset, experience navigating complex client environments, and the ability to act as a trusted partner who understands customer goals and industry language.

What You'll Do

    • Responsible for new client acquisition and long-term account management for LAH Insurance Licensing, Property & Casualty Insurance Licensing, and Insurance CE Sales; own a defined book of business and deliver against annual new revenue objectives
    • Drive new business development through strategic prospecting, cold-calling, research, and networking to break into new accounts and expand market reach
    • Conduct daily sales activities including scheduling appointments, presenting solutions (virtual and in-person), providing product demonstrations, and supplying product quotes
    • Build and maintain client relationships through timely follow-up (including 24-hour response on inbound and marketing-sourced leads) and continuous communication on product changes and enhancements
    • Collaborate with sales leadership, client services, and operational partners to support account planning, client retention, business growth strategies, and maintain accurate customer records
    • Actively attend industry events, trade shows, and relevant conferences as applicable; travel as business needs require to support client-facing opportunities

Who You Are

    • An experienced and energetic sales executive with a strong hunter mindset and proven track record of driving high growth against ambitious targets
    • A strategic thinker with solid experience breaking into new accounts and selling/negotiating at the C-level
    • Someone with deep understanding of the insurance and/or financial services landscape, including competitive offerings, software solutions, and their place in the market
    • A trusted partner who understands customer goals, industry language, and can navigate complex organizational structures to build relationships across all levels
    • An excellent communicator with strong written and oral presentation skills, including the ability to present to large audiences and translate business needs into solutions
    • A self-motivated professional with strong managerial, analytical, organizational, and project management skills

What You'll Need to Succeed

    • 10+ years of B2B sales, account management, or business development experience in strategic or key account roles
    • Proven track record of managing strategic accounts, driving revenue growth, and exceeding sales targets
    • Experience in insurance, financial services, professional services, or related industries
    • Strong understanding of the continuing education, professional development, or compliance training landscape
    • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex organizational structures and build relationships across all levels
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to translate business needs into solutions
    • Self-motivated with a strong hunter mindset and ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
    • Willingness to travel as business needs require
