The Company

Marigold is a fast-growing marketing technology company helping growing businesses build stronger customer relationships through its three core platforms: Emma, Campaign Monitor, and Vuture. We deliver powerful tools for email, SMS, and marketing automation that elevate engagement and drive real results. Marigold is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with team members across the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

The Role

The Account Executive I is the first level of independent Account Executive ownership within Marigold's Commercial Sales organization. This is a full-cycle, quota-carrying role responsible for generating pipeline, managing an assigned territory or segment, and closing new business.

This role is a natural progression for a Sales Development Representative II who has demonstrated readiness for broader territory, quota, opportunity, and forecast ownership. The Account Executive I manages opportunities that require greater ownership or complexity than typical SDR scope while continuing to build predictable full-cycle sales performance.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and execute new-business pipeline-generation activity within an assigned territory, segment, vertical, or prospect group.
  • Own qualified opportunities from prospecting or SDR handoff through negotiation and close.
  • Partner with SDRs to progress opportunities that require broader sales ownership and provide feedback on handoff quality.
  • Lead consultative discovery and deliver tailored product demonstrations aligned with customer objectives.
  • Manage multiple stakeholders, requirements, timelines, risks, and next steps throughout the buying process.
  • Identify, develop, and close new-business revenue opportunities within the assigned territory or prospect scope.
  • Maintain pipeline coverage sufficient to support assigned quota.
  • Provide accurate forecasts, opportunity stages, close dates, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain strong CRM discipline and complete customer and opportunity documentation.
  • Partner cross-functionally to deliver a consistent customer experience and support revenue outcomes.

How Success Is Measured
  • Attainment of assigned new-business quota and full-cycle opportunity goals.
  • Qualified-pipeline creation, pipeline coverage, win rate, and consistent opportunity progression.
  • Forecast accuracy, CRM discipline, and effective ownership of prospecting- and SDR-sourced opportunities.
  • New-business growth within the assigned territory or prospect scope.
About You

You are a developing full-cycle seller who is ready to independently own a new-business territory, pipeline, quota, opportunities, and forecast. You are confident conducting discovery, presenting solutions, managing prospect decisions, and closing new business while continuing to strengthen territory strategy and forecasting skills.

Ideal Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience in sales, business development, or another quota-carrying customer-facing role.
  • Demonstrated success generating qualified pipeline and closing commercial opportunities.
  • Experience managing discovery, product demonstrations, objection handling, negotiation, and close.
  • Ability to manage a territory or opportunity portfolio with increasing independence.
  • Strong consultative selling, prioritization, relationship-building, and forecasting skills.
  • Experience partnering with SDRs or coordinating opportunity handoffs.
  • Strong CRM discipline and attention to pipeline accuracy, next steps, and customer documentation.

Nice to Have
  • Experience selling SaaS, marketing technology, or subscription-based software.
  • Experience selling within a defined territory or industry vertical.
  • Experience independently managing new-business opportunities through the full sales cycle.
  • Familiarity with email marketing, automation, or customer-engagement platforms.
