About the team
The Iberia Account Executive team is focused on maximizing net revenue retention and expanding Stripe’s footprint across Iberia. Rather than cold prospecting, our primary focus is partnering with existing, high-potential accounts to drive strategic product adoption and account expansion. We move with urgency and operate with high customer empathy, delivering commercial growth through structured account planning, cross-selling, and executive alignment.
What you'll do
As an Account Executive (Existing Business) for Iberia, you will drive revenue expansion across our established portfolio of Enterprise users in Iberia . Acting as a trusted commercial advisor to senior business leadership, you will unlock strategic growth opportunities by guiding clients through multi-product adoption, international expansion, and contract upgrades. You'll execute long-term account growth strategies, align complex technical and commercial requirements, and lead commercial negotiations to close.
Responsibilities
- Drive Portfolio Revenue Growth: Own and execute revenue expansion targets within a dedicated portfolio of existing, high-growth accounts in Iberia.
- Unlock Cross-Sell & Upsell Opportunities: Identify unmet client needs and drive adoption of Stripe's broader product suite (e.g., Billing, Connect, Radar, Treasury, Issuing).
- Strategic Account Mapping: Build comprehensive growth plans for complex organizations, mapping customer business roadmaps to Stripe’s capabilities to unlock new revenue streams.
- Consultative Selling: Serve as a strategic payments advisor to executive stakeholders, presenting business cases that demonstrate ROI through conversion optimization, cost efficiency, and global expansion.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with Solutions Engineering, Product Sales Specialists, Customer Success, Risk, and Legal to accelerate deal velocity and ensure smooth deployment of new solutions.
- Lead Commercial Negotiations: Own the end-to-end deal cycle for expansions, contract renewals, and tier upgrades, leading complex commercial negotiations to closure.
Who you are
Minimum requirements
- 6+ years of quota-carrying sales or enterprise account management experience, with a proven track record of driving revenue expansion and upselling technical products in the Iberia market
- Demonstrated history of consistently exceeding expansion targets (Net Revenue Retention / ARR growth) within existing customer accounts.
- Ability to map out complex multi-entity client organizations and identify new product adoption triggers.
- Strong technical literacy with the ability to articulate business and technical value across a complex multi-product ecosystem.
- Track record of building lasting relationships with C-level executives, Finance Directors, and Product Leaders.
- Proven experience leading complex commercial negotiations, contract restructuring, and expansion deal closures.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Native or professional fluency in English and Spanish
- Based in (or willing to relocate to) Madrid, Spain.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience as an Expansion AE, Land & Expand AE, or Strategic Account Manager in payments, fintech, or complex SaaS platforms.
- Deep understanding of payment economics, card networks, conversion optimization, or financial SaaS workflows.
- Experience scaling existing enterprise accounts within a fast-scaling growth stage or tech enterprise.
