The Account Executive, Federal Government is a member of the Consensus Cloud Solution Enterprise sales team in the United States and is responsible for prospecting and closing new logos, as well as potentially managing an existing account base.


  • Maintaining and fostering relationships with key accounts.
  • Actively working to uncover additional needs and identify opportunities for Consensus to provide additional value. 
  • Researching and prospecting new business opportunities in close relation with our strategic partners.
  • Leveraging calling, networking tools, email, and all available methods to generate net new leads resulting in the pipeline, and eventually revenue.
  • Initiating, delivering and following up on quotes for existing and prospective clients.
  • Delivering targeted presentations to senior managers and decision-makers.
  • Developing and increasing public sector knowledge by participating in professional memberships, associations, publications, and events. 
  • Establishing and cultivating strong relationships with collaborating, internal teams to drive revenue and sales.
  • Providing feedback to Consensus leadership regarding market trends, competitive threats, unmet needs, and opportunities to deliver greater value to customers.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested. Consensus reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.


  • 10 + years sales experience in Cloud, SaaS, Telco or IT selling to private sector or large corporations.
  • 10+ years selling SaaS solutions.
  • 10+ years federal government/SLED sales experience in Cloud, SaaS, Telco or IT
  • 10+ years of successfully selling high tech products and SaaS services to the federal government/SLED.
  • General understanding of document and information security.
  • Experience with selling SaaS solutions.
  • Background understanding and utilization of Salesforce.
  • Strong rolodex and history with federal/SLED agencies and track record of selling successfully in the federal/SLED government space
  • Ability to work with partners in selling solutions.
  • Ability to connect with and converse with “C” suite executives in our partners' world as well as with high ranking decision driving officials in the relevant agencies.
  • Ability to travel sufficient to build and support the territory and also required sales meetings and events.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.


  • 10 + years sales experience in Cloud, SaaS, Telco or IT selling to the federal government/SLED. 
  • Deep knowledge of the FedRAMP High marketplace and corresponding processes.
  • Preference on candidates living in the DC Metropolitan Area 


  • Location requirements: Fully remote within the U.S. (Los Angeles, Las Vegas or Braintree, Massachusetts, DC Metropolitan Area preferred.)
  • Travel requirements: Up to 10% travel. 
  • Physical requirements: Must be able to sit for long periods, as well as, handle long periods of screen time.
  • Technology requirements: Reliable, high speed internet

The salary range for this role is up to $120,000 USD + Commissions  The total compensation package for this position is negotiable and may also include [annual performance bonus, ESPP, enhanced time off packages and benefits.]
