About the Role: As an Account Executive at Maritz Business Events Solutions, you'll be at the forefront of driving revenue and gross profit through the sale of innovative group meetings and event solutions. You'll have the opportunity to work with clients across various industries, helping them achieve their business goals through our Strategic Meetings Management solutions. Your mission will be to grow and manage a book of business worth at least $1,000,000 annually, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.

What You'll Do:

Business Development (70%):

  • Identify and pursue qualified sales leads through cold-calling and networking.

  • Develop and execute a prospecting plan targeting top prospects.

  • Build and nurture relationships with prospective clients, including senior executives and procurement managers.

  • Continuously evaluate clients' business environments to identify opportunities where Maritz solutions can add value.

  • Create compelling value propositions and sales strategies aligned with clients' business priorities.

  • Successfully transition sold business to our Event Operations team.

Client Retention (20%):

  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted business partner.

  • Gain deep insights into clients' businesses to identify new sales opportunities.

  • Ensure service excellence and manage client expectations through project changes.

  • Develop strategic networking plans within clients' decision-making hierarchies.

  • Collaborate closely with Meeting Event Managers on all aspects of client programs.

Administrative (10%):

  • Conduct thorough research on clients' businesses, including industry trends and competitive analysis.
  • Manage the CRM and update sales planning tools regularly.
  • Handle expense reports and manage accounts payable related to sales financials.
  • Submit work orders and monitor financial elements of assigned clients.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a client-facing operational or sales role within Meetings and Incentives or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of pricing and profitability models.
  • Willingness to travel 30% - 40% of the time.
  • Prior sales and hunting experience preferred.
