SUMMARY 

As an Account Development Manager, this position will grow Minnesota Air's residential and light commercial business through an assigned list of dealer accounts while actively adding new ones. The position will spend most of their week in the field, calling on existing contractors at their shops and recruiting new accounts. This role requires the ability to build long-term dealer relationships, sell equipment, parts, and supplies.  The base salary for this role is $50,000 - $65,000. Additional compensation includes commission and bonus opportunities. 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Grow revenue and gross margin across an assigned list of residential and light commercial dealer accounts. 
  • Call on dealers in person at their shop and on jobsites. 
  • Expand the categories each dealer buys: residential equipment, light commercial equipment, parts, supplies, IAQ, and ductless. 
  • Grow parts, supplies, and accessory volume in every account. 
  • Prospect and qualify residential and light commercial contractors not currently buying from Minnesota Air. 
  • Build and work a pipeline of target dealers, including competitive conversions and newly formed contractors. 
  • Structure and present new dealer proposals covering pricing, logistics, program enrollment, and onboarding. 
  • Own the first 90 days of each new account so the dealer's experience matches what was sold. 
  • Present and sell Carrier and supplier programs, rebates, and promotions, and ensure dealers claim what they have earned. 
  • Build relationships at multiple levels of each account: owner, service manager, install manager, and purchasing. 
  • Conduct business reviews with top accounts covering purchase trends, program participation, and growth opportunities. 
  • Partner with inside sales and operations to resolve pricing, inventory, warranty, and account issues. 
  • Maintain accurate account, activity, and pipeline records in HubSpot. 
  • Communicate price changes, supply constraints, and product transitions to accounts proactively. 
  • Coordinate factory and in-house training and drive dealer attendance at technical and business sessions. 
  • Provide field feedback on pricing, inventory, and competitive activity to sales leadership.
  • Represent MN Air at customer and industry events. 
  • Participate in and promote continuous learning and development through training initiatives such as MN Air University, HR programs, tech-support courses, and webinars.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES 

  • Understanding of residential and light commercial HVAC equipment and systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless, air handlers, rooftop units, controls, and IAQ. 
  • Comfort with pricing, margin, and rebate math, including the ability to build and defend a proposal. 
  • Proficient with CRM and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Exceptional customer service, organizational, and multitasking skills. 
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team. 
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • Ability to meet established deadlines. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of outside sales, inside sales, or account management experience in HVAC, building products, or a comparable distribution channel. 
  • Demonstrated record of both retaining existing accounts and opening new ones. 
  • Experience with Carrier or another major HVAC brand. (preferred) 
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered. 
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods driving between customer locations. 
  • Frequent time spent in dealer shops, warehouses, jobsites, and mechanical rooms.

  • The work environment varies from office to warehouse and jobsite, with exposure to noise, temperature variation, and uneven surfaces.
