Role Responsibilities

In this face-to-face field role, you will drive revenue, transaction, and sales growth across an assigned territory in California through management and expansion of existing agent relationships. This role plays an integral part of the Western Union sales organization and overall network growth strategy.

  • In-person visits to existing agents in California, traveling 4 to 5 days per week. As part of daily operations, Account Development Executives regularly visit agents within the assigned territory, including occasional overnight travel as business needs require.
  • Manage and grow existing retail agent relationships by identifying and executing opportunities to expand product usage, improve performance, and drive incremental revenue and transaction growth.
  • Support business development within the existing network by identifying high potential opportunities for growth and selectively supporting onboarding of new offerings or services where applicable.
  • Perform field-based sales work to meet and exceed transaction and revenue growth objectives within the assigned territory. Responsible for growth across existing agent performance, product categories, and assigned market segments.
  • Handle special projects in a timely manner including sales blitzes, customer engagement events, and operational initiatives at high opportunity locations to drive volume.
  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant grassroots and community organizations to support local market presence and strengthen agent performance.
  • Monitor competitive activity including network expansion, pricing changes, commission structures, and incentive adjustments, and report insights through appropriate channels.
  • Provide weekly business reporting including sales activity, competitive activity, and account highlights.
  • Partner with agent support functions such as Collections, IT Support, Credit, and others to resolve issues that may impact agent operations or performance.
  • Analyze and interpret productivity reports and operate within assigned expense budgets while completing required reporting and documentation.
  • Proactively identify and propose growth opportunities through structured business cases that drive incremental revenue and expand market share.
  • This role requires regular travel within a defined territory and requires the candidate to reside within the assigned territory, preferably near the largest market.

Role Requirements

  • 70 percent travel expected.
  • 2 to 3 years of sales experience, direct Money Transfer industry experience highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desired. Fluency in English is required.
  • Documented track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and maintaining strong business relationships.
  • Consumer to Business and Consumer to Consumer financial services experience highly desired.
  • Ability to identify and articulate opportunities for incremental revenue and market share expansion.
  • Consultative sales experience highly desired.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated, results driven, and able to operate independently with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work in a goal driven environment.
  • High level of integrity, persistence, and professional business conduct.
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle required due to regular travel within the assigned territory.
  • Must reside within the assigned territory, preferably in close proximity to the largest market.

Work Shift

REMOTE - Western Union values in-person collaboration, problem solving, and ideation whenever possible. We believe this fosters common ways of working and supports how we execute initiatives for our customers. However, due to the nature of this role, there is no specific office location where the employee is expected to report. The employee must align with their manager on other expected in-person collaboration opportunities.

Salary

The base salary range is $60,000 to $70,000 USD per year.  Total on target compensation combines base salary with a high-impact commission structure that aligns with individual and company performance.  Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
