Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 9:00am-7:30pm.
Weekend availability required, 15% pay differential for Saturday.
Fulltime position at the Gaithersburg, MD location.
Essential Duties:
- Learns and follows the established standard operating procedures for sample handling and record keeping.
- Receives and triages patient specimens.
- Assigns each specimen an accession number and creates a patient chart.
- Enters patient information into LIMS database, with strict adherence to HIPPA laws.
- Transports all accessioned specimens to the DNA extraction team and/or cell culture team, as appropriate.
- Label patient documents with barcode for later scanning of patient charts through OnBase.
- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance, takes authorized corrective action, and notifies key individuals.
- Adhere to quality control policies and documents all quality control activities.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Strong computer and typing skills (a Typing Test will be required)
- Attention to detail and accuracy are critical
- Ability to work well independently and within a team
- Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced work environment
Preferred:
- AS or BS degree in chemistry, biology, or related science field
- Data Entry experience
