Summary
Serves as the dedicated liaison for patient access improvements and workflow education related to ambulatory access and patient partnership at the local practice level. Partners closely with department leadership to promote and accelerate enterprise access goals. Supports network-wide access initiatives across the care continuum, including in-person support in Emergency Departments and inpatient units. Recognizes opportunities for improvement, escalates concerns, and assists in developing and implementing solutions
Job Duties
  • Coordinates patient access by assisting with appointment scheduling across the enterprise, escalating issues, and advocating for patients.
  • Supports strategic plans, goals, and initiatives with emphasis on patient access and partnership.
  • Analyzes access and referral data, providing reports, insights, and trends to leadership.
  • Maintains productivity standards and recommends innovative approaches to improve performance.
  • Participates in onboarding, training, and re-education of practice staff.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on access workflows, data tracking, and standard work

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years experience in an ambulatory practice setting and or equivalent experience in scheduling and coordination of patient access.
  • Ability to work with interruptions and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Advanced computer and typing skills.
  • Basic knowledge of how to construct charts and graphs.
  • EMR Training
  • Knowledge and working use of medical terminology.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree

    Physical Demands
    Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
