This role will be required to float between the following locations: Springside Concord, Foulk Rd, Stoney Batter and Christiana Newark Campus.
- Concord : 7:30a – 4pm or 8-4:30pm
- Foulk Road – 7:30a – 4pm or 7:45 to 4:15
- Stoney Batter – 7:30a – 4pm or 7:45 to 4:15
- Christiana Campus – 7:15a – 3:45p, 8am – 4:30pm, 8:45a – 5:15p
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To promote patient and physician satisfaction through proactive patient access activities. Collaborates with physicians/offices, patients and interdepartmental staff to ensure a seamless delivery of patient care and appropriate fiscal management of the encounter.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs daily operational activities (registration/verification) as associated with accurately and efficiently managing patient encounters.
Registration of encounters as dictated to meet the clinical/fiscals need of the patient and institution.
Front desk registration for Imaging procedures, scheduling, and receptionist
Registration in Soarian and scheduling in Radnet
Answering busy telephones professionally, taking messages and routes calls
Responsible for determining and collecting pre-service or point-of-service payments in assigned outpatient, inpatient, emergency department, or call center settings. Collection efforts may also include past due balances.
Be well-versed in payment plan and financial assistance options that are available to patients, and present options to resolve patient liability, as needed.
Must be prepared to educate patient on their financial responsibility, according to their benefit plan, as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Associate degree in Business/Medical related field preferred.
Two years experience in a medical, financial or marketing institution preferred.
Previous insurance or third-party experience is preferred
Ability to manage multiple software/websites simultaneously
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Manual dexterity to initiate calls and perform computer entry.
Sight to dial numbers and read computer screens.
Hearing to speak with patients, etc on the phone; possibly extended periods of time.
Repetitive motion of hand, wrist and fingers.
Physical capability to walk/stand/sit/ for up to 8 hours/shift
Physical capability to carry a notebook (small laptop) and carrying case; total weight 3-7 LBS.
Physical ability to utilize computer cart as necessary (32 LBS)
Physical ability to push wheelchair as needed
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Sit, stand or walk most of the day in a hospital/office environment.
Communicate with patients, family members at bedside.
Stand and carry a notebook (small laptop).
Interdivisional travel as necessary.
May be exposed to potential biohazards found in healthcare institutions
