The University of New Hampshire is seeking a Fully Certified Athletic Trainer for to assist Gymnasts during the Fall Clinic.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Present to assist in any needs during clinics

  • Treats in-clinic injuries

  • Designs rehabilitation programs

  • Informs injured players’ families of athletes’ condition

  • Monitors progress

  • Maintains records

  • Plans preventive measures

Requirements

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

  • Fully certified Athletic Trainer with a bachelor's or master degree. Must have some understanding of the sport of gymnastics.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of gymnastics and the physical demands of the sport.

  • Familiarity with common gymnastics injuries and appropriate injury prevention, evaluation, and management techniques.

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply various athletic taping and wrapping techniques.

  • Ability to recognize signs and symptoms of injury and determine when an athlete should be removed from participation or referred for further evaluation.

  • Ability to provide appropriate first aid and emergency care when needed.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced gymnastics environment with athletes of varying ages and skill levels.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with athletes, coaches, parents/guardians, and other medical personnel.

  • Ability to maintain accurate and timely injury and treatment documentation.

  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency or high-pressure situations.

  • Understanding of appropriate safety practices and injury-prevention strategies specific to gymnastics training.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with gymnastics coaches and clinic staff to support athlete health and safety.

  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred/required, as applicable.

  • Ability to communicate appropriately and professionally with children and adolescents.

  • Understanding of the additional considerations involved in providing care to minors, including appropriate boundaries, supervision, and communication with parents/guardians.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work scheduled gymnastics clinic hours, including evenings and/or weekends as needed.

  • Ability to remain on-site and available throughout assigned clinic sessions.

  • Ability to respond quickly to injuries or medical emergencies during clinic activities.

  • Successful completion of any required University or department background screening and onboarding requirements.

  • Compliance with all University, athletic training, youth program, and gymnastics clinic policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience providing athletic training or sports medicine services in a gymnastics or similar acrobatic sport setting.

  • Experience working with youth and adolescent athletes.

  • Familiarity with common gymnastics injuries, injury prevention, and rehabilitation techniques.

  • Experience with a variety of athletic taping and wrapping techniques.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced sports or clinical environment.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with coaches, athletes, parents/guardians, and other medical professionals.

  • Experience providing medical coverage for camps, clinics, practices, or competitions.

Compensation Pay Range:

$45 an hour

Approx: 6-8 hours of work
