Position Summary:
Responsible for supporting and assisting academic technology leadership in research, implementation, and maintenance of all technology related to learning and teaching.
Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement technology-based solutions to support educational programs and teaching & learning initiatives.
- Provide training and support to educators and students on the use of technology for learning and instruction.
- Collaborate with other members of the education team to identify areas where technology can be leveraged to improve student outcomes.
- Evaluate and recommend digital tools and platforms to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
- Monitor and ensure the data accuracy in the LMS :synchronization of data from Colleague to LMS
- Troubleshooting for all academic related technology systems
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations in the use of educational technology
- Provide inter-departmental support and data analytics research on Learning Management System (LMS) - Canvas
- Research emerging technologies and assess their potential for improving educational practices
- Assist academic technology leadership with technology projects from start to finish, including planning, and execution.
Supervision Received:
Assignments are performed independently, in accordance with University and departmental policies and procedures.
Supervision Exercised:
No supervisory responsibility.
Qualifications
Position Qualifications/Specifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in educational technology, instructional design, or a related field.
- Technical proficiency with educational software, learning management systems, multimedia tools, and emerging technologies
- Experience in a higher education environment
- Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) like Canvas, Canvas API, and MS 365
- Instructional technology, IT certifications like Canvas Certified Technical Admin (CCTA) preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with current educational technology trends and tools
- Experience with online and hybrid teaching models
- Knowledge of instructional design principles and practices
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Keen awareness of current and emerging educational technology trends and solutions.
- Excellent project management skills, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Complies with all departmental and university safety rules and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Professional appearance and demeanor with attention to detail and strong organizational skills are needed to accomplish several ongoing assignments simultaneously. Position may require occasional irregular work hours including weekends. Physical requirements are within the normal bounds of an office environment but may include occasional lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds.
