Summary Generated by Built In

Are you passionate about building strong academic programmes and developing teachers to reach their full potential? Do you thrive in environments where leadership, structure, and people development matter as much as curriculum expertise? Are you looking for an opportunity to shape the future of a growing international school in Senegal?

Enko Education is looking for its next Academic Programme Coordinator for Ecole Bilingue Avenir (EBA), located in Ngaparou, Senegal. This is not simply an administrative role. You will be the academic leader responsible for driving teaching excellence, supporting teacher development, and ensuring the successful implementation of ambitious educational programmes. Working closely with the Head of School, you will help build a strong academic culture where teachers are empowered, held accountable, and continuously supported to improve student outcomes.

You have experience leading teachers, coordinating academic programmes, or managing educational projects within a school environment. You combine high expectations with strong interpersonal skills and know how to create alignment across diverse teams. Most importantly, you are fully bilingual in English and French and are comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment.

As EBA continues its growth journey and prepares for the development of internationally recognized programmes, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the school's academic vision and long-term success.

Key responsibilities

Your mission is to drive academic excellence by leading teacher development, strengthening instructional practices, coordinating key educational initiatives, and building a high-performing academic culture that supports student success.

  • Academic Leadership & Programme Development: Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the school's academic programmes, contribute to the development of future international pathways, and ensure alignment between classroom practices and the school's educational vision.
  • Teacher Coaching & Professional Development: Observe classes, provide actionable feedback, design professional development initiatives, and support teachers in continuously improving their instructional practices.
  • Team Leadership & Performance Management: Lead and develop a team of approximately 10 teachers, foster a culture of accountability and collaboration, and support performance management processes in partnership with the Head of School.
  • Curriculum & Student Achievement: Coordinate curriculum planning, assessment practices, and academic reporting while monitoring student performance and implementing strategies to improve learning outcomes.
  • School Improvement & Project Coordination: Lead strategic academic initiatives, coordinate implementation plans across stakeholders, and ensure key educational projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Secondary Programme Coordination: Support the academic coordination of the secondary school, ensuring consistency across grade levels and preparing students for future academic pathways.
 Ideal candidate

We are looking for an educational leader who combines strong people management skills, pedagogical expertise, and operational discipline. Beyond technical knowledge, you are a fully bilingual English-French professional capable of developing teachers, leading teams with confidence, and driving academic excellence in a multicultural environment.

  • Fully Bilingual Educator: Fluent in both English and French, with the ability to communicate, influence, and build trust across diverse teams, students, and families.
  • Academic Leadership Experience: Proven experience in academic coordination, department leadership, programme management, teacher development, or other educational leadership roles within a school environment.
  • Teacher Developer & Coach: Demonstrated ability to observe, support, train, and develop teachers through constructive feedback, professional development, and instructional coaching.
  • People Leadership & Influence: Strong leadership presence with the ability to manage, motivate, and hold teams accountable while fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing culture.
  • Operational & Project Management Skills: Highly organised with the ability to structure complex initiatives, manage multiple priorities, and ensure consistent execution and follow-through.
  • Growth Mindset & Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-growing and multicultural environment, with the agility to balance strategic thinking and hands-on implementation.
  • International Education Exposure: Experience with international curricula (IB, Cambridge, British, American, French, or equivalent) is a plus.
