Academic Operations is responsible for ensuring that all centers operate smoothly and consistently according to established academic standards and SOPs. This role bridges academic quality and daily operations, supporting teachers, monitoring center performance, and ensuring an excellent learning experience for students.
Key Responsibilities:
Center Operations Monitoring
- Oversee daily academic operations across all Sparks Math centers. It includes but is not limited to SIS monitoring and teacher schedule arrangement
- Identify and resolve operational issues quickly
- Conduct regular center visits
- Ensure compliance with Sparks Math academic policies
SOP Compliance & Process Control
- Ensure all academic processes follow SOPs.
- Monitor adherence to class schedules, lesson plans, assessments, and reporting.
- Support continuous improvement of SOPs based on operational feedback.
Teacher Availability & Scheduling
- Monitor teacher attendance and punctuality
- Track teacher availability for current and upcoming classes
- Coordinate substitute teachers when needed
- Ensure optimal teacher-to-class allocation
- Prevent class cancellations due to staffing gaps
- Identify and plan teacher requirements for each center
Teacher Engagement & Support
- Monitor teacher engagement in Sparks teacher engagement programs
- Conduct regular check-ins with teachers
- Support teacher communication and issue resolution
- Coordinate teacher recognition and engagement activities
- Work with senior teachers and academic leaders in each center
Academic Quality Assurance
- Observe classes and provide structured feedback
- Ensure lesson delivery meets Sparks Math quality standards
- Monitor student engagement and classroom effectiveness
- Maintain accurate academic and operational records
- Track KPIs such as student reports, SIS, and teacher disciplinary
- Prepare weekly and monthly academic operations reports
- Use data to identify trends and improvement areas
- Work closely with business operations, Student Advisor, and HR
- Ensure alignment between enrollments, class capacity, and staffing
- Support new center openings and expansions
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field
- Minimum 1 year experience in academic operations in education centers or similar roles
- Minimum 2 years experience in teaching
- Experience in teaching mathematics to young learners, and having knowledge regarding Singapore math is preferred
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets
- Experience working with academic data or student performance tracking
Requirements:
- Strong ability to process, analyze, and interpret academic data (student performance, assessments, attendance)
- Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets (formulas, pivot tables, creating and maintaining dashboards)
- Understanding of academic operations in a learning or tutoring center (scheduling, class management, academic calendar)
- Ability to generate clear academic reports and actionable insights
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple academic tasks effectively
