About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and student-centered Academic Advisor to join our School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering and Applied Science team. In this role, you will provide developmental academic advising for new and continuing students using a case management approach. You will assist students in defining personal and academic career goals, interpreting and understanding placement scores, program curriculum and pre-requisites, and developing basic skills to register for courses, as appropriate. The Academic Advisor will refer students to appropriate internal and external resources that foster student success.***RESUME AND COVER LETTER REQUIRED FOR CONSIDERATION***Required Skills & Competencies:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in zoom and Microsoft word and excel, with hands-on experience in higher education platforms.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and provide data-driven solutions.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically, make decisions independently, and solve complex problems in a timely manner.

- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and track progress in a fast-paced environment.

- Support retention, persistence, and completion for SAMEAS students
- Will be required to work 4 Saturdays per year

- Use canvas and salesforce and internal Ivy Tech systems to assist with scheduling and maintaining accurate advising records.
- Apply advanced problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve student issues and situations.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, utilizing clear communication to ensure smooth workflow and project success.
- Manage a caseload and communicate effectively via text, email, and phone
- Work in a fast-paced environment for new student advising and orientation events as well as continuing student events
