Brandeis is looking to hire an Academic Administrator in the School of Arts, Humanities and Culture. The Academic Administrator will oversee academic and faculty-related operations for assigned academic departments or programs to ensure undergraduate student and faculty academic needs are met. Takes the lead on all undergraduate curricular and faculty processes for assigned departments and programs. Evaluate curricular data collection processes; recommend improvements. Independently assist the Chairs and Undergraduate Advising Heads of assigned departments and programs with a wide variety of academic and faculty focused projects.

Job Description:

  • Curriculum: Create streamlined processes to facilitate course registration and independently manage course assignment across a complex set of department and program requirements. Analyze existing data management and business processes for undergraduate curriculum, suggest and implement process improvements. Guide chair’s decision making about course planning by providing detailed reports on historical offerings. Spearhead annual Bulletin review. 25%

  • General academic and faculty-related administration and projects: Create and maintain files/records for undergraduate academics and departments/program faculty. Curate departmental/programmatic academic calendars, Facilitate undergraduate Prizes and Awards process. Assist with senior thesis defense process. Complete data requests from Dean’s office, including annual planning. Manage logistics for department/program meetings. Attend Students Day and Academic Fair to answer questions about department/program curriculum.

  • Oversee students on assigned tasks. 20%

  • Student guidance: Provide general advice to students, fielding inquiries regarding program details major and minor requirements. Acquire and apply knowledge of degree program requirements in providing guidance to students. 15%

  • Data entry: Process undergraduate program of study declarations. Complete WD tasks related to registration for assigned departments and programs. 10%

  • Faculty support: Serve as a resource or point person to faculty on questions regarding technology, institutional or departmental policies and other general information. 10%

  • Faculty Processes: Manage faculty searches and organize tenure and promotion cases as applicable. 10%

  • Other duties: Perform other duties as assigned. Support cross-functional groups for assigned Division as requested. 10%

The salary range for the position is $59k-$61k.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: B.A./B.S. required.

  • Work Experience: 2-4 years

  • Excellent oral and written communication to effectively coordinate across offices and groups.

  • Impeccable interpersonal skills with a collaborative work style to create strong working relationships with departments and offices across Brandeis.
