The Role
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a highly skilled and driven Senior Originations Officer to join our Asset-Based Lending (ABL) team, focused on the Consumer & Retail sectors. This individual contributor role is responsible for leading pre-account origination activities and driving new business development for ABL products. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, strong credit acumen, and a proactive approach to client engagement and proposal development.
In this role, you will:
  • Act as a top subject matter expert to lead complex, innovative, and diverse initiatives with enterprise impact, high risk or with significant scope, cost, and benefits
  • Lead the sourcing of new clients or growing of existing relationships for a given product or specialty, with a particular focus on growing mid-corporate and Corporate & Investment Banking relationships
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of the most complex and significant challenges across multiple areas, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale, broad-reaching, and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking, and coordination of highly complex activities and resolution
  • Understand clients' businesses, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions to grow strategic relationships within the context of individual deals and client relationships
  • Provide vision, leadership, and industry expertise regarding large-scale companywide strategies that significantly influence the organization's business and financial operations
  • Provide subject matter expertise to peers and leaders in partnership with coverage teams, as well as work on the most complex, larger, and multi-product financing opportunities, including analyzing potential opportunities, structuring, proposing, and selling tailored financial solutions to clients, strategically leading internal coordination, and submitting transactions to management or independent risk for approval
  • Strategically lead all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise; serve as an expert advisor to leadership
  • Represent the company externally to resolve client issues and achieve business objectives
  • Partner with product management functional partners to provide vision, leadership, and industry expertise on evolving market needs that significantly influence the business and improve financial outcomes, including large-scale, cross-functional, or companywide strategies
  • Serve as a mentor for less experienced individuals
Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of secured or specialized lending sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of originating and structuring ABL transactions, particularly in the Consumer & Retail sectors.
  • Strong understanding of ABL structures, collateral types (AR, inventory, equipment), and credit fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field; MBA or relevant certifications preferred
Job Expectations:
  • Travel up to 50%
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule
  • Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening.

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$185,000.00 - $300,000.00
