About the position:
Prisma is in search of a self-motivated, open-minded individual with pressroom experience that can operate and perform routine maintenance on an 8/Color Double Coater HUV Komori press.
Applicants need to possess mechanical abilities and have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Frequent lifting, bending and turning are required for this position. Company safety rules must be maintained in the performance of these duties.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to accurately operate 8 Color HUV Komori Sheet -fed press with aqueous or UV coating unit or units with precision and skill
- A good understanding of E.C/U.V. curing systems and how to maintain them
- Knowledgeable of modern Color Control Systems (CCS).
- Be able to interpret, trapping, gray balance and dot gain data for use in running and maintain in Solid Ink Density (SID)
- Run the job per job ticket specifications and customer’s requirements
- Seeks assistance when needed to clarify unclear tasks and responsibilities
- Assists in production of each job to measure to highest quality standards
- Maintains safe, clean, work environment
- Adheres to the company and department’s standard operating procedures and policies
- Assist with other tasks as assigned
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards
Required Skills and Experience:
- Interpersonal skills, self-initiative to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong quality control skills
- Minimum of five years’ experience in the printing industry / pressroom is necessary
- Tenacious attention to detail with advanced organizational skills
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with changing demands and competing priorities
- Ability to lift approximately 40 lbs., constant use of hands and arms, ability to stand on feet all day long and frequent walking, kneeling and reaching
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. during maintenance schedule (roller maintenance)
Skills Required
- Minimum of five years' experience in the printing industry/pressroom
- Ability to accurately operate 8 Color HUV Komori sheet-fed press with aqueous or UV coating units
- Experience performing routine mechanical maintenance on Komori presses (roller maintenance)
- Understanding of E.C./U.V. curing systems and maintenance procedures
- Knowledge of modern Color Control Systems (CCS) and Solid Ink Density (SID) maintenance
- Ability to interpret trapping, gray balance, and dot gain data
- Strong quality control skills and attention to detail
- Interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in a team
- Ability to lift approximately 40 lbs regularly and at least 50 lbs during maintenance
- Ability to stand all day, frequent walking, bending, kneeling, reaching
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety procedures
