The 3PL Operations & Excellence Manager will lead the day-to-day coordination between Neogen’s internal operations teams and our third-party logistics (3PL) provider. This position is central to ensuring operational continuity, efficiency, and performance across order management, shipping, inventory control, and documentation.

This is a hands-on, process-driven leadership role suited to an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The successful candidate will manage a team of functional leads, act as the primary escalation point for operational issues, and drive accountability across logistics operations to support Neogen’s broader supply chain goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage 3PL performance end-to-end, monitoring KPIs and SLAs daily and taking swift action to address any gaps.

  • Empower and direct a team of functional leads, ensuring effective daily coordination with 3PL partners.

  • Oversee all inbound, outbound, and order management processes, stepping in as needed to maintain operational flow and service levels.

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for urgent operational issues, including shipment delays, inventory discrepancies, and customer service concerns.

  • Collaborate closely with 3PL partners and internal departments to troubleshoot and resolve real-time logistics challenges.

  • Partner with the Process Improvement Manager to identify and execute tactical process improvements.

  • Enforce operational rigor and compliance, driving consistency, accuracy, and speed across all logistics activities.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement within the logistics function.

  • Communicate clearly and diplomatically with cross-functional stakeholders to maintain smooth coordination and professional collaboration.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management within a customer-centric environment.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to coach and motivate cross-functional teams.

  • Strong process orientation with a proven record of improving operational efficiency.

  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), order fulfillment, and inventory control.

  • Frontline warehouse or customer-facing operations experience is highly advantageous.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong data analysis capability.

  • Experience working with or managing 3PLs preferred.
