The 3PL Operations & Excellence Manager will lead the day-to-day coordination between Neogen’s internal operations teams and our third-party logistics (3PL) provider. This position is central to ensuring operational continuity, efficiency, and performance across order management, shipping, inventory control, and documentation.
This is a hands-on, process-driven leadership role suited to an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The successful candidate will manage a team of functional leads, act as the primary escalation point for operational issues, and drive accountability across logistics operations to support Neogen’s broader supply chain goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Lead and manage 3PL performance end-to-end, monitoring KPIs and SLAs daily and taking swift action to address any gaps.
Empower and direct a team of functional leads, ensuring effective daily coordination with 3PL partners.
Oversee all inbound, outbound, and order management processes, stepping in as needed to maintain operational flow and service levels.
Serve as the primary escalation point for urgent operational issues, including shipment delays, inventory discrepancies, and customer service concerns.
Collaborate closely with 3PL partners and internal departments to troubleshoot and resolve real-time logistics challenges.
Partner with the Process Improvement Manager to identify and execute tactical process improvements.
Enforce operational rigor and compliance, driving consistency, accuracy, and speed across all logistics activities.
Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement within the logistics function.
Communicate clearly and diplomatically with cross-functional stakeholders to maintain smooth coordination and professional collaboration.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management within a customer-centric environment.
Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to coach and motivate cross-functional teams.
Strong process orientation with a proven record of improving operational efficiency.
Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), order fulfillment, and inventory control.
Frontline warehouse or customer-facing operations experience is highly advantageous.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong data analysis capability.
Experience working with or managing 3PLs preferred.
