What You’ll Do
As a 3D Visualization Design Intern at Verkada, you will compose visual assets for technical documentation, such as hardware product install guides alongside our growing team of designers and hardware engineers, for Verkada’s quickly expanding portfolio of products. Your focus will be clear communication, visual storytelling, and creative solutions that show our customers how to install and use our products.These documents will uphold brand principles, reduce visual complexity, and deliver delightful experiences for our customers. You’ll make a big impact — your visualizations and technical understanding will help create seamless installation experiences.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with a multidisciplinary design team to create clean, consistent, and precise visuals.
- Present your design concepts and strategy to peers and key stakeholders from the initial concept through to the final deliverable.
- Collaborate with our industrial design and hardware engineering teams to develop highly technical guides for our products.
- File preparation, production, & proofing process oversight for all production artwork.
- Implement efficient practices to better scale creative output and quality.
- Adhere to tight schedules and help uphold high design quality standards.
- Contribute concepts and problem-solving across multiple projects and teams.
Requirements:
- A website or digital portfolio with examples of 3D renders that showcase product features, assemblies or other technical details is required for consideration.
- Design student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree or a recent graduate.
- Consistency in visual composition with high attention to detail and conceptual clarity.
- High level of organization and communication skills to support collaborators across the organization with assets and clear directives.
- Proficient in Keyshot.
- Proficient in 2D digital tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
- Ability to communicate your vision and build on existing solutions.
- Good understanding of illustration, typography, and photography conventions.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with enterprise or consumer electronics.
- Previous experience as a Production Designer visualizing hardware products.

Pay Disclosure
At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate’s skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting base pay may be above or below this range. Base pay is also just one component of Verkada’s total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
Estimated Hourly Pay Range
$35—$35 USD
