As a Creative Motion Designer at Roblox, you will be part of a multidisciplinary creative team dedicated to elevating how Roblox is represented across all platforms. You will craft high-quality 3D motion assets and narratives that bring Roblox’s brand, products, and experiences to life. You will support key areas of the business, including marketing, social, and on-platform events.

You Will:- Design and animate high-quality 3D motion across a wide range of projects about our brand, products, features, and events.
- Elevate the Roblox brand by creating compelling, well-crafted 3D content
- Contribute to defining and evolving Roblox’s visual identity across marketing channels and surfaces.
- Collaborate closely with art directors, designers, copywriters, and producers to understand project goals and deliver creative solutions that align with the Roblox brand.
- Model, texture, light, and animate 3D assets and environments, ensuring both creative vision and technical performance. Experience with character rigging and animation is a plus.
- Optimize 3D assets and animations to ensure seamless performance across different platforms and surfaces.
- Stay current with emerging motion design trends, 3D animation techniques, and technologies to keep Roblox at the forefront of creative innovation.
- Manage your time effectively to meet deadlines, balancing creativity with speed.
- Implement feedback from creative leads and cross-functional partners while maintaining a high-quality bar.
- Uphold and promote standard methodologies for project organization, version control, and asset management.
- At least 3 + years of professional experience 3D motion design, ideally within a creative agency, entertainment company,or on a brand.
- A strong reel demonstrating your proficiency in 3D software (Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya) and rendering engines (Redshift, Octane, Arnold).
- Strong skills in After Effects, Premiere Pro, and other post-production tools.
- Proven ability to work across a variety of project types, from conceptual ideation to final implementation.
- Strong understanding of design principles, visual storytelling, timing, and composition.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present and explain creative ideas to cross-functional partners.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, balancing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for gaming, technology, and interactive media is a plus.
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.
Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
