WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 6pm with an On-Call rotation
  • Gather information on patients' illnesses and medical history to guide the choice of diagnostic procedures for therapy. Explain procedures and safety precautions to patients and answer patient questions.
  • Produce computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as required by the departmental procedures.
  • Perform imaging duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology.
  • Position the patient and equipment correctly to produce results with the best quality.  Operate machine properly in order to produce clear imaging results of a patient's body. Observe the equipment to make sure that it is working properly. Maintain standards while performing call types of procedures. Regulate the equipment used to expose the x-ray film, develops and documents PACS imaging.
  • Conduct preliminary assessments, summarize processed data, and communicate findings and relevant information with healthcare professionals; collaborate with radiologists, clinical staff, imaging assistants, IT staff and hospital partners in the execution of analysis.
  • Create the illusion of depth by manipulating 2D data into three-dimensional format to capture images of patients' tissue, organs and/or bones to evaluate for possible injury or illness.
  • Perform post-acquisition processing of data to produce clinically relevant and useful images, parametric maps and segmentation; troubleshoot when issues arise.
  • Write detailed reports about the patients' behavior or any machine malfunctions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's Degree Required
  • 1year of Advanced Imaging experience Required
  • 3 years of Advanced Imaging experience Preferred
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association Required
  • Active Indiana Radiology Technologist License (RADTECH) Required
  • Vascular Interventional Radiology (ARRT-VI) Preferred
